Welcome back guys! Been waiting for this to be (re)released. I absolutely love this album and every song in it. Despite not knowing the exact meaning behind them, they all speak to me. I can't wait to see more from you guys. Love from America

Thanks Aster! Means the world to us that you,. and everyone else, waited this long for the re-release. If it helps, the meaning behind each song flows into a pseudo-concept album that this whole record revolves around. If you read the lyrics of the first track 'Wanderlust' and listen to the themes / watch the singular videos for the locations of each song, it should make more sense that it's about a journey!

@@valianthearts I remember watching the singular videos and yes, that does make sense. Wherever this journey takes you guys, I'm with you all the way!

Yeah, I know. I'm 2 years to late. I love your music. The last part of this album hit a cord in my heart with the song My Sanctuary. I loved Kingdom hearts, this band, and the emotion you dedicate behind the music.

The amount of views on this is disgustingly underrated.

Is there any particular reason why this album is the only one you don't have on Bandcamp? I'd love to add it to my collection there.
@valianthearts4 жыл бұрын
Label reasons. We were signed to a label in 2018 and we were released from our contract shortly after, but they kept the rights to this album. We'll hopefully get the rights back eventually. We'd love to have it back on Bandcamp (it originally was, until the label re-released it).

Vocals are kind of drowned out by the instrumentals, but overall it's a solid album.

Can anyone help explain the concept behind the album?? I have my theories but am curious what others think
@ODiS332 жыл бұрын
well, if (after a year) you're still curious, id like to throw my two cents into the mix. Wanderlust is very heavily inspired by HLH's ground dweller (and all the better for it), and we can assume from the titular song that its about a journey (as they've already stated themselves before) I'd like to wager that the fundamental concept for the album is finding that one place, whether it be in your mind, or around others, or in a place of solace, where everything just seems clear. A place where you can be true to yourself and where you can enjoy life to its fullest, the way you want to. I think that last part is best reflected in Drawing Shorelines (We're still painting blueprints on canvas with our bare hands). Overall, this concept is the one thing that always makes Wanderlust an album to return to SOOOO often for me. The lyrics written for the songs are easily some of, if not my absolute favorite out of anything I've ever listened to. I consider the best songs to be the ones that allows the mind to roam, and I think Wanderlust is the embodiment of that belief and more. Wanderlust is kind of the center of my inspiration for much of my creative works (however little those works actually number, lmao). I found Valiant Hearts through their Devil Trigger cover only a few months ago, but I managed to find things so much greater than that alone. I have no regrets listening to their songs daily, at almost any point of the day, and although i probably spend too much digging into the lyricism to find the meaning in their songs, their lyrics are where I find an immense amount of comfort and understanding. I'm gonna stop rambling here cuz man I have said way too much lol. TL;DR Every song these guys have made i have yet to dislike, they're all just that amazing. Can't wait for what lies beyond Yonder

Isn't Sanctuary a song from Kingdom Hearts? Shouldn't you credit the original artist even if its a cover? Sorry, I'm not versed in copyright, just curious why it isn't Sanctuary (cover by Valiant Hearts); Great album by the way.
@valianthearts6 жыл бұрын
Yes it is! The title formatting you're talking about has been on the singular video for Sanctuary on our channel since its release, being "Sanctuary (Utada Hikaru Cover)". We'll update it in the description here too. We do actually "pay" for the license to cover this song, or at least it's portioned from any royalties. It's not like making a cover without permission, it's all done through the correct channels and we have referenced the attribution, we just missed adding it in this video! :) And thanks for checking out the album!
