You were my Neurosurgeon years ago. We discussed Pilates and alternative methods to try before surgery. You also gave me some recommended reading. Thank you for listening and speaking with me. I implemented several changes you recommended, the most important one being prioritizing spending as much time as possible with my dog and partner. My partner (who is in healthcare and was with me at my appointment) and I are so happy you are doing well and enjoying life. Wishing you and your family the best :)

Wonderful comment. Sarah here, for twenty years I was working in the medical field as a TCM and acupuncture physician. Listening to this fine doctor was refreshing. Now one of his patients coming online, just fortifies what we told patients for years . Many listened . You never stop working to change and improve. Thank you for being here by this mountain stream .

You have spoken for so many of us (doctors in the US). I was in ER, burned-out and feeling like I was patching walls and not fixing the leaking roof. I quit too. I went to Colorado. Found some things as well (yoga, meditation, etc). Would love to talk with you sometime. Don't know how. Maybe I'll find a way to connect. Thank you. You've made me feel grateful tonight.

As someone who is still learning about the way of life and society (society isn’t for me) is Colorado the right move? Im 26 and made a few mistakes years ago financially but now im doing my best to change and move on with my life. I feel alone but not depressed about it, happy but alone. I have a few friends, family that I love, no girlfriend/wife, no kids. Just a humble, quiet, loving man who wants to be the change and destiny in my family’s bloodline for once but at the same time, I just want to disappear into nature and be either alone with a companion or with someone I love. I’ve seen so many beautiful properties with the job I have and it’s been motivating me, I really want to branch out from society and create my own life, my own way how it is intended with the universe, not society and its clowns. Any advice would be appreciated, thank you and much love to everyone. Colorado seems like the perfect place for me but im just curious and seeking advice.

@@rain_24 No Colorado today is mostly wealthy people. The state if very controlled, the land here is worthless, you can't grow anything here. I suggest Tennessee instead.

@@rain_24 Colorado *used to* be “the perfect place,” but it has become a victim of its own success. Stunningly beautiful, a culture of outdoor recreation, fitness, wellness, entrepreneurship, and environmental stewardship, it drew people who also wanted to live in paradise. *LOTS* of people…. We have effectively loved Colorado to death: crowded trails; heavy traffic; scarce water; sprawling ticky-tacky suburbs; soaring home prices (median is 1.2 *million* in the town nearest me, not much less farther out); few (and very expensive) rentals; growing homelessness; increasing crime; and heavy air pollution *(15 ozone-alert days this June* along the Front Range!). Then there’s the high wildfire risk (both forest *and* urban-grass-fire), now extending into winters at lower elevations and some years resulting in *months* of choking smoke. This is my home and I love it, but things are becoming more and more difficult. Tennessee? 😳 I suggest considering that advice carefully. Out of the 5 US states and the 3 countries in which I’ve lived, Tennessee was *by far* my *least* favorite place.

The best life we can have is the one we creat and gift to ourselves. I am 70 years now, I had a job that was mentally killing me too once. I was 40 at the time. It got so bad, one day I couldn’t even force myself back to the job. I have always been a single parent and could not be with out an income. But i left. Long story short. It took me about 14 years to recover mentally from that job. It was a struggle but I managed my life different from that day forward. One day. Just before California shut down from COVID I did something I always wanted to do. I packed my car and began to travel the country. I slept in my car, just me and my little dog. Talk about good therapy.! Listen everyone. Take it from an old girl…….do what makes you happy. Cultivate a simple life. Most of all love yourself and forgive yourself. Good luck to all that have suffered pain you can get through . 🎉😊

A time to heal others. A time to heal oneself. A time to build. A time to rest. Contentment is the secret. When our self worth is not determined by family, society or country. But the Self is so limited. Without others this I and me will shrivel and dry out. Use your knowledge and skills for the benefit of others. A tree needs good branches so the flowers can bloom and the fruits can ripen. Be free but don’t limit yourself. My best wish to you Dr Goobie. Stay with Mindfulness Meditation. Know when the mind goes to other objects, just bring it home to your home object. It goes out. Bring it back in. No irritation, no analysis, no wondering why and what. Eventually your mind will treat uninvited objects (words, actions, situations…) the same way. Your mind won’t attach to the external or internal objects. You know and you let it be. Peace and Contentment will be yours and they will fuel kindness, compassion, and tolerance for others.

Your latest video popped up in my feed last night, definitely not a coincidence. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and story. I am also in the mid-life stage, I call it mid-life awakening 😄 I am not in a healthcare field, but your messages resonate in so many ways when I exited the corporate world in 2021. I'm still exploring and trying to figure out what to do next. I was thinking about pursuing a therapist career to help others, but didn't want to spend the next several years earning a Master's degree and have a student loan. Your video really confirmed that I can help and heal people in many other ways just like how you start this channel to share beautiful sceneries and tranquility. I have a rose gardening channel that I started in 2021, perhaps that's my inner calling to connect with others through growing roses. Enjoy your journey ✨️ May you find joy and peace everyday.

I haven't listen to your full story yet. I plan too when I'm back at work. So I can focus on what you're saying. From what I know though. I'm glad you're sharing your life with us. I experience some isolation trauma as a teenager and childhood PTSD. Full on Complex PTSD. My focus was on trying to escape my parents. Join the military. Or just flat out go on the run when I was 18. (14 at the time). I was stuck in an RV trailer with my 65 year old parents. I was born to a 45 year old woman. They never considered my education or social needs and I lost what I built after somewhat healing from the CPTSD going into highschool. They pulled me out of school and "homeschooled" me. I lost all my friends, my dreams, escape was the ultimate dream then. But after a year my parents couldn't stand hearing me screaming in agony about how isolated an lonely I was. We went back home to and I went back to school. I attempted 3 times in my life. I reexperiencing my childhood trauma I never knew even existed since it was before I was 5 year old. I literally didn't even speak somewhat until I was in 2nd grade. I had to go to speech therapy. I deal with a lot of bad habits. Later in my life I even had 2 brothers commit suicide. Both extremely violent. All linked to trauma. Passive Suicidal Ideation, PTSD, Depression with Anxiety, ADHD, Dissociation problems. I even lost most of my voice. I was almost mute. I don't even remember a large portion of my life because I never tried to enjoy the world around me. Because fear and stress was killing my mind. Going through highschool and COVID almost killed me. Being kicked out for "premarital" sex while I was in my junior year. I was 18 at the time. This was right after COVID was just starting. So much pain. Some of my best memories are of stuff like this. A simple river in the mountains. Truly beautiful. I have a lot of regrets, but accepting what happened to me and doing stuff like this is what has helped me. We as humans are truly something special. What's the point in life if you can't share it with anyone right? I'm not religious because a lot of my pain was sourced from beliefs such as that. But in my own beliefs its truly amazing out of billions of years the nature created something so amazing and we as humans have became aware of it. Too understand it. There's nothing I can think more amazing than that. My goal in life now is to be married to my wife. Take care of her and give my daughter the thing I never had. I'm glad you found your peace. 💗

@mattalden10 Nature can help heal you. There are many successful methods, such as EFT (emotional freedom technique) and other trauma release programs that can help you. There are lots of videos on KZbin regarding EFT so you can do it on your own for free. My heart goes out to you. Many of us suffered childhood trauma to varying degrees. I've learned that healing the wounded child (you at a younger age) simply by imagining him at whatever age the trauma occurred, assuring him that they are safe with you (the adult version of him/you) and holding them in your arms then sending him out to play without a care in the world has done a lot for me. The trauma peels off in layers. As a memory or trigger arises, deal with it then and there and repeat the process of loving that small child version of yourself and then telling him "I've got this" as the adult, does a lot to heal the trauma of the past for me and many others. May you find the peace and love that you so deeply deserve in this life. Know that you are loved.

You should write a book about freeing yourself of pain or start a small practice that guides people to rid their pain by healthy methods!

Thank you. Your video explaining your departing the practice of neurosurgery came thru my feed this morning. Just started listening to it. Work day beckons but I will continue. I appreciate your being so honest and for living your life in a healthier way for you now, and sharing your videos of beautifully healing nature. I have gratitude and respect for neurosurgeons- my brother had surgery for frontal lobe brain tumor 5 years ago and he is well today. My brother was hospitalized for 3 weeks. I saw how hard health care providers work in Neuro-ICU and critical care. I have my own healing journey-an orthopedic extravaganza after being hit by a driver (umm… I won’t say his profession). As a Buddhist, with aspiration to liberate others from suffering, I am cognizant that the driver has a lot of suffering to be liberated from. His conduct that night I was hit created a lot of suffering for me and people who care about me. It’s a transformative time for sure. May all beings have happiness and the causes of happiness. May all beings be free from suffering and the causes of suffering… Sincerely, thank you for sharing the beauty you encounter now.
