At the press conference after the incident PIO LAPD Captain called the suspects “potential burglars”. The suspects broke in through a sliding glass door and there was a scuffle, that makes them burglars nothing potential about it. Captain Muniz definitely knew the suspect’s name and criminal history that included burglary and robbery, and she thinks he is a potential burglar. She was the highest ranking officer on scene.

If you listened to LAPD PIO Captain Kelly Muniz on scene after this occurred, she described the suspects who entered the man’s house as “potential burglars”. If LAPD’s Captain Muniz cannot differentiate between actual burglars and potential burglars I have concern for the department’s training and ability of lower rank officers to recognize the elements of a crime. Leave it to George GasCON to try and charge the homeowner over some life long criminal loser. It is absolutely ridiculous we are talking about the homeowner being charged. In the Hollywood Hills case earlier this year the LA Sheriff’s department revoked the man’s CCW permit when attacked as he approached his front door by two criminals. Tired of BLAME the victim.
