Simple but ingenious invention. Finally a video that explained it so well. With that type that you have it's almost impossible to put it back together if you accidentally pull the cover which I did.

Omg such an amazing and informative video bro...I never knew the exact working of a clock spring and I was always wondering what is the use of that equipment but with the brilliant visual setup on which you demonstrated the wires getting twisted got the concept clear for me...thanks

Great video...thanks for the awesome visual👍🏻 I have had 3 clockspring failures on my 2010 Jeep Liberty. Any ideas on what could cause these failures besides junkyard replacements? Not sure where mechanic aquired🥺 Can you recommend a reputable aftermarket replacement that my have reverse engineered. It's getting quit $$$ for this repair on a fixed income 🥺

Thank you for the video. One advice for you. The black wire shall in the COM connector, not in the amp connector in the multimeter.
@ValleyMobileAutomotive2 жыл бұрын
Hey good catch! I must have been using it for checking something else and forgot it was in the Amp port. Having it in the COM port would have been the right port. Thanks for pointing that out 👍

THANKS AGAIN , ROBERT !!!! EXCELLENT ( and very NECESSARY FOR ME ) TUTORIAL !!!! I only didn't understand why you dint lose continuity AFTER U CUT THE FIRST RIBBON : ARE THEY SEPERATE OR INDEPENDENT ???

What is the technical name for the multimeter test leads you used and where one can buy them. Thanks.

Hello and good video sir, i have a question, do i need to disconnect the battery before measuring the continuity and unplug the conectors? For the airbag concerns?
@ValleyMobileAutomotive3 ай бұрын
@@AngrDany Correct, the connector must be disconnected before measuring continuity 👍. It would be a good idea to disconnect the battery as well.

It’s like a cassette tape but with the ability to face each other like a mirror.

Beware.... On Ebay etc, most sellers don't know the difference between a Clock Spring and the Steering Angle Sensor. ( The SAS is for cars that have Vehicle Stability Control and tells the computer how much the Steering Wheel has been turned) As shown here, the Clock Spring is just to connect Horn, Airbag and other ancillaries to the other side of the column.

My horn goes off ,soo i changed my whole steering wheel,after changing it run good for like a 2 yrs then same thing ,can the problem be the clock spring ?

Can a clockspring be repaired
@ValleyMobileAutomotive6 ай бұрын
I don't want to say it's impossible but it would be very difficult. You would need to take the ribbon out and locate the break. After repairing the ribbon you would need to assemble it all back together.

My wheel is turning lisse all the way but tires stay still Ford Edge 2010 clock spring ??
@ValleyMobileAutomotive Жыл бұрын
I wouldn't think the clock spring would be the issue. The clock spring only allows wiring on the steering wheel to pass through the column without getting tangled up. I would hook up a scan tool and monitor the steering wheel position sensor as you're turning the wheel. You may also have codes that will point you in a direction for diagnosis.

@@ValleyMobileAutomotive great will do thy thanks it’s just crazy I been looking for a video that shows the issue fixed but nothing like that thanks 🙏

I still don’t understand why they made it so difficult 🤦🏻♀️ it’s just a horn . Wouldn’t it still be easier to run seperate WIRE From a spring loaded button behind the centre of the spring loaded hub . It seems like a scam - in Australia 2023 👉 to bye the clock spring unit costs , just over $500 dollars 🤦🏻♀️.
@paulp4243 Жыл бұрын
They used to do that, but they kept failing so this method was thought up.
