@@aygdkjuh6608 it is already done in Tamil Nadu. Now Daughter have equal rights (which a son enjoys ) in property sharing since 1990s. I see some problems here. Let me try to explain here. I have seen this in some family. The Daughter has legal right to poses a family property. But when a father leaves loans to repaid, then the son is responsible to pay the loans. But The daughter is not responsible. because obviously she is not staying with her family so she does not know the details. This is fair point. Also, once daughter gets married her in laws do not like lenders at their door step. So, they also ask the lender to contact the son to repay the loans. This is still okay to certain extent when the son is also part of the family business. Because he knows the business decision his father took. The worst is this, the siblings had to repay the loans if the brother in law passes away ( the loans which was enjoyed by their in-laws family in the first place ) why ? Because there are no breadwinner in the in laws family. Is that fair ? So as a son once you start earning, you are NOT safe if you do not have any loans. But You are safe, if your father does not have any other loans and your in laws should not have loans too. This comment is not related to this video. But since you posed a question about property sharing i answered about the situation in Tamilnadu

Both son and daughter are equally responsible for the loan got by their parents, only up to the level of property inherited from parents. So it’s better not to give false excuse of loan, to deprive daughters of their property rights.

Here there is one catch though. If we the applo hospitals and parle agro sisters were told to share their business with a member they may too become cold feet. In my family itself I have seen one of my aunts had inherited her husbands business and she refused to share the deserving amount with her late husbands brother. Bull shit Kerala never had a female inheritance system. Male children usually gets the majority of the property and is considered as the legacy. And marumakkathayam means that uncles would transfer their inheritance to their nephews. So women where never really under control of the wealth. For instance if my uncle dies I will receive his wealth that was the system. But it is no longer the case. And Kerala is an extremely monogamous society with Harden social structure and extra marital affairs or pre marital sex is considered as a serious taboo and if you conduct such acts you will be ostracized in society.
