@@daz.r1994 i would still use the old valor wicks but just be careful, use some gloves and try not breathing in any dust that comes off them, you could use modern fibreglass if you want as long as you get the correct depth of wick,i have two of those cookers but mine are the falks veritas type but all i think probably came from the same factory by then, there a good cooker because there burning oil vapour rather than burning on the wick

@@SeniorRalcblu Thank you. I will be careful with the wicks now and use gloves Is it ok to use in the house with these wicks. I have been using paraffin cookers and heaters all the time i started in 2021. It's great to talk to you. As you have two falke veritas type. They do look like thay are made in the same factory. I picked this Valor cooker up to see if i can run my British army No4 oven on this cooker. The oven fits nice on the cooker top. I see a falke veritas on ebay the other week and it looked new.

@@daz.r1994 i wouldnt worry to much about asbestos wicks in the house youve just got to be careful handling them especially when there old and fragile, you might find that your oven bottom gets a bit hot on your valor cooker there not like the long chimney cookers theres a lot of flames on the oil vapour burners and all the oil vapour burner ovens i have are all open bottomed and a bit taller with mica windows at the bottom so you can see and regulate the flame.

@@SeniorRalcblu Thank you. I have a Valor No III it's a great little oven. The British army No4 oven has a hole in the bottom and the heat goes around the oven liner and comes out the top. I have used a valor 65s boiling stove to get the oven to 180c- 230c worked great. I have used the British No4 oven with a Swiss army petrol stove outside. The roast chicken come out Amazing. I need to fit the British army No4 oven in the house as i have no electric oven now.
