I get the Idea of the changes for Neon, Reyna and the older changes for Jett. What they wanted to do is to make the entry ability the strongest in their kit while nerfing little bit the other abilities so the dualists can’t do everything in the round and they need their team. The problem is that in ranked the nerf to the other abilities are not enough, the only thing that will make people to not pick dualists all the time is if they will just have one ability that is a dive ability and ult, nerfing the other non dive abilities to the ground. And I will finish my statement with a quote”we hear you, buffs are fun but to balance the game we need the nerfs” if that is what riot devs said, why are all of the agents in the game are getting nerfed but the dualist class is getting buffed?!? This patch is the dumbest thing riot ever done in “balancing” agents

you are absolutly right, i am playing controllers since i started in sommer 2022 and felt always like they're wre nerfing controllers from time to time without adjusting ANYTHING in the duellist class. Now it is much more challenling to hold a site with viper than a year back but Jett and raze have still the same opportunities to entry on to your site. Duellist just feel so brocken op right now. it is real sad.

Considering Riot logic we have to instalock duelists so they will do anything in short-term.

I think either all agents should be self sufficient or none should be. So if support agents get nerfed so they have to support their teammates more, then it would be fair for duelists to also get nerfed so they need support more.

I hope Riot sees this, but I dont think they would do anything anyway. They have constantly been doubling down on game design aspects that I think are making the game worse, like adding Clove to the game, or the patches talked about in this video. Good video!

bit late, but I think there are two main issues Riot ran into when trying to remove dive: 1) Dive is inherently too strong on some maps. In fact, it is so strong that Riot has to accept it as a stable role on these maps. What they did instead was first releasing a designated anti-dive Sentinel in Deadlock and buffing Cypher to have a better answer against dive (ironically, the only Duelist that is able to reliably deal with his wires happens to be a diver), and then powercreep the non-dive Duelists to a point of giving them game breaking unconditional snowball abilities (Iso) that encourage "bad Valorant". This patch is just the point at which their system breaks, and they will have to admit that the attempt of killing dive has failed 2) Sounds stupid, but in my eyes it is Viper. Being the only slicer in the game, her ability to enhance and enable defaults and her ability to condition the Defenders is so valuable on pro-level that she becomes close to mandatory. This leads to comps not being able to run multiple duelists, and if you can run only one, it has to be a diver. No problem so far. The issue is that Viper's role is not needed/is not as strong in casual play, and the gap she creates gets filled by powercrept non-dive duelists

I still firmly believe we need to see a map with not many choke points that people enjoy before saying we need breeze and icebox. The devs should attempt a different map formula. Different than both ascent, and icebox. Dont really care what they try, but i know for a fact less casual players touch the game when breeze and icebox are in the pool

I don't think it is a very controversial thing to say that riot doesn't understand it's own game, because let's not forget, valorant was created as a mashup of cs and overwatch and some other shooter games, because the devs took advantage of the fact that valve essentially never updated their game. It isn't really an original idea.

Just FYI if you talking about percentages and something incresed from 40% to 46% it increased by 6 percentage points not 6%, as 6% would mean 40*0.06

pick rates of Iso on pro play are kinda going up tho wym I think you're underestimating the shield also, Breeze does have a lot of chokepoints, A main, B main, B Cave, A door, A double doors, Nest into Kitchen, Halls into Kitchen Also, Icebox is terrible, i don't even know if a map with no chokepoints is good for this game, everyone hates them no matter what agent they're playing, same thing happened in B Pearl, also, they're boring to watch what I think they are actually doing wrong is not leaning into Dive more, everyone loves Dive, it gives structure and functions to the classes of agents in the game and a role for everyone to play at, that's why playing Icebox feels so weird, it's a mess when it comes to it if there's something we can learn from OW, is that pushing for metas just because of "pick rate" is not necessarily healthy for the game, after all, just look at what it takes to make non-dive duelists viable, a shield that breaks the game at a fundamental degree, permanent overheal and very fast repositions per kill or an ult that gives you a 2nd life and an undodgeable flash Dive is good, it's fun to play, it's fun to watch, makes coordination have a very clear goal and it allows for both very mechanical players or very big brain players, Dive is what we need, embrace it

Im just a measily plat and its always felt duelist favored with assists meaning basically nothing for rr. An enemy can get full blinded and have 0 chance, and your RR will be no different. Maybe doing it 10 times would equate to a kills worth. Then their goal is to make duelist pick rates more even? Fr? I know they did dogshit for movement duelists vs everything else, but itd be nice if other roles felt valued in ranked. And not in the way smokes are required, yet nobody wants to play them. Crazy

i agree with this.. i main smokes and get 10+ assists a lot of games with positive KD but then i only get like 14 RR, but when i lock duelist and a couple more kills, no assists, i suddenly get 20RR or more. the game has always favored duelists and how they play, i dont think it will ever change
