As a collector myself of vintage and antique items, Margarete is correct when she said this little "book" used to hold valuable papers. I enjoyed seeing the names of those "papers" as she turned pages. "Automobile Insurance" "Last Will & Testament" etc. I would LOVE to find one of these! Awesome job, Margarete! Love it!

Thanks so much, Beth! I have never seen another one of these in all the antique shopping that I've done over the years. I hope another one will pop up. They are so much fun to work with :-)

Was browsing around on youtube this morning......my secret thing to do while hubs is golfing! Oh my! Margarete, I so love this book! You have an amazing array of ephemera. I need to look at it again and maybe a third time! So much to look at! You rock! Will be looking at ALL your videos! (He only golfs on Thursday morning!)

So fun to see all your old currency...I am an American living in slovenia(part of former Yugoslavia) so. It was especially interesting to see the Yugoslavian dinar bill. It was also very touching that you offered to return someone's honorable discharge paper.

Thanks, Sarah. This one was fun! :-) Cool that you're in Slovenia. I was in Slovakia for 5 years so I got to travel around central Europe. I found it very hard to find vintage papers in Slovakia. People basically throw everything out. There aren't even many antique shops. I wonder if it's the same in Slovenia.

You followed your intuition when you bought this great booklet. That's how we find treasures. This is sure a treasure after you made it alive. Wonderful, I can watch your video more than ones Margarete.

Wow, this is incredible. I love how you used the vintage elements with the digital kit. Your sense of balance in your collage is inspirational. And, I love the odd size, what an interesting creative challenge! Thank you for sharing this fantastic project!

Thanks, Dawn. You're right. Now that you mention it, I did have to try to balance the digital kit with the vintage pieces. That always is a bit of a challenge, but in this case I got it to work. Sometimes I really struggle. Thanks for watching :-)

This is wonderful! I wouldn't´t know how to get such old documents... The coins are money for playing, for example children, when they play grocery store... Thank you for showing!
@MargareteMiller7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Susuko. Old documents are everywhere, you just have to learn how to uncover them. The coins are play money though I don't think they would last long with children. They bend too easily. It's better to glue them down :-)

What a great idea!! I wish I could find old documents. I've been looking in antique shops and on ebay but their prices are more than I want to pay. Could probably clean out our home/personal files and find lots. Your videos are so informative and enjoyable to watch.
@MargareteMiller7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Retha :-) You definitely could find things in your personal files. I did too. You only have to find things that *look* like documents. I had a TV repair form that worked perfectly, especially if you just need a portion.
@grannygrimson7 жыл бұрын
Retha Stockton sometimes you can find/order copies of vintage documents of your own ancestors through ancestry websites, this video just made me think of that, and now I am going to do just that!

My Inlaws had some lovely old money from Germany, Russia and Latvia from the late 1800's. It was briefly in my care to pass along to some of my Grandchildren. It was so beautifully designed that I just had to photocopy it, also to do some research. At least by my research it was not overly valuable, but now I know what to do with those photocopies 💡😃

I love it Margarete!! Great work. Do you do any research on the value and dates of the currency you are using? I recently purchased a very old Austrian bill while I was in Cuba and I would feel concerned about just ripping it up. I would love to know if you do any sort of research into them. The book looks beautiful!! TFS!
@MargareteMiller7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Juliana. Yes, there are some I just can't bring myself to tear or glue down. Currency are usually so mass produced that they don't hold much value, even if they are old. They're cheap to get a hold of, which is good :-)
@LedgerAndLace7 жыл бұрын
Love your collaging and use of old currency! I think you could probably scan family forms and send them to Ancestry.com or some place where they archive records. :-)

I find your work so beautiful. TFS. Oh, I would like to know where you bought the foil wrapped paper coins if you don't mind. I could find anything when I searched the name you said. Of course I could have misheard or spelled it wrong.

that first certificate is not a baptismal certificate....those of the Morman faith have to do the genealogy of their family when a young couple gets married...those forms are the old forms (they have changed of late) where each person is registered, whether or that member was of the Morman faith, including their parents, grandparents, and their children, showing when they were baptized, married, re-married, for ALL members on that page! I have some of those blank forms given to me by some of my Morman cousins for genealogy purposes...
