@@DrLoriV Awesome thank you, but I already have that bookmarked. I was excited to see today’s episode! I have a bottle from the 1770s used to ship ink from England to America. I think I paid $5 (in Stamford CT) over 25 years ago. I’m pretty sure I negotiated because I got several items from the same place including a big steamer trunk with beautiful lining (looks sort of like wallpaper). My dad used to go to estate sales when I was little, I remember him getting a beautiful cedar chest filled with Irish linens all for $20! It was given to me as a hope chest ha ha. I gave it to my daughter when my granddaughter was born (19 years ago on Feb 2!). It’s funny because I try to watch the news to try to keep up with what’s happening around me, however I keep coming back to this channel & now I have an itch to go to Goodwill.

Question for your next questions video.. if you have an 18th century map (possibly) that is framed with nails into the backing, would changing out the frame and backing into acid free paper make the item look less desirable to buyers? I know a lot of people look for those nails to know they’re truly buying an antique. Will that hurt a sale if it’s not authenticated?

Dr. Lori, I recently commented that I loved your intelect but found your snarkiness off putting. I've since deleted my comment. Ma'am I feel the need to apologize. I watched your live last night and you said that you were the only one doing appraisals on your website in addition to the lives and shows that you're doing. I would most likely lose my mind and forget my own name if I had to do the amount of work and/or research that you're constantly putting in. I'm a southern where we're more laid back and not so up front with others. After watching more of your videos, I've noticed that what I first mistook for "rudeness" is actually you being up front. In other words, you don't beat around the bush when informing the client the history and value of their piece. I like that and I'm sorry for my rude comment.
