I did my research for almost a year. Green and Orange priced themselves out of my reach. Looked at the LS at the KY farm show, but they had no dealer within 80 miles of my farm. Looked at the Massey, almost bought it, but saw the Rural King RK55. It has the Yanmar 55HP 4 cyl turbo diesel, Bosch injection, rear remotes, lift capacity and lots of other options for less than any competitor. Been happy with it now for over a year. Zero issues.

Yanmar is the Best for your money. Unless you're constantly going forward and reverse, gear drive is much better than HST. Also keep in mind that just about all Deere tractors under 100 hp have the Yanmar motor. I compared a Kubota 3901 & 3902 vs Yanmar YM 342 and am so glad I went wth the YM342. Much more robust... 16:30 To each his own, but im so satisfied with Yanmar. Deere is comparatively over priced, and there are more implements at better prices for the Yanmar.

I started out with a used 20 year old Kubota. Parts were readily available, and the dealer supported the machine. From that time I have only bought Kubota equipment, including 3 tractors and 3 diesel zero turn mowers. So I guess dealer support and the equipment reliability are my motivating factors in premium machinery. I have no doubt that other manufacturers make quality machines at a cheaper price, that's just not the route that I took and feel comfortable with.

My experience exactly. I bought a used low hours Kubota L3010 twenty years ago and have never regretted it. Another option was a low hours Long for sale by a bankrupt landscaper who needed cash badly. What a mistake that would have been. Long is gone, the dealer is gone and where would I get parts? Another option brand new was a Branson selling under another name by a different importer. Same deal. The dealer is history.

I have run John Deere and Kubota and I am one of those I HATE the treddle pedal on Kubota tractors. I really like John Deeres two pedal control so much better. Your heel never moves and you just pivot the front of your foot back and forth it works so well. With a treddle you have to pick up your foot and move it to the rear of the pedal because you cannot bend the front of your foot up enough to get reverse, at least I can't. Many hours on both cutting grass and plowing snow .

@@scrambler69-xk3kvbrother, I know what you mean... but I found that I don't put my foot on the "pegs" themselves. I rest my entire foot just 3" to the left, on the longer bar that those pegs jut out from. Then, instead of having to move your foot (you'd need a size 18 shoe to reach both heel and toe simultaneously), just rest your foot and rock back and forth for reverse and forward. Hope that helps, man!

Service Manager at a Bobcat dealership here. I agree with your assessment about the state of parts and service. We have improved considerably since I started in my dealership a year ago, part of that was because we did manage to get a really good technician last summer. We have improved our lead times to get a machine in the shop to about 3 days at peak, often we get machines in the same day. Parts availability is all over the place. Generally improving, but still not good enough. I understand that pretty much every brand is in the same boat.

I just messaged you yesterday about the stump wrecker. I ended up with a bad boy 4025. I wanted the 4035 but here in upstate NY my options were limited and could only find the cab model. My tractor came with the loader and backhoe for under 40k. I couldn’t be happier with my purchase. I’ve put this thing to it’s limits almost. clearing 8 acres, grading, filling, and bringing in tons of rocks on my new property. I’ve moved huge boulders building a retaining wall and have moved tons of fill dirt. Pulling stumps is tedious with the (any)backhoe but it works. This machine has had zero issues and the engine manufacturer also builds the Cummins diesel so their an established manufacturer. I was quoted way too much from JD and Kubota for a tractor with more hp but incredibly less lifting capacity. I highly recommend bad boy.

My experience with the local John deere dealer in Plant City, Fl has made me consider another brand. They had my mower for over 4 weeks to fix a hydraulic leak. Shopping around for my first tractor I watched this channel, Tractor Time with Tim, and Messicks Equipment to learn the most. What I came up with was that too much research gets you back to square one. I was originally deadset on Kubota and about 40hp. Now I’m leaning towards Kioti because it seems to be the best behind Kubota. They’ve been in the US for 40 yrs so not going anywhere and they make all their own tractors top to bottom so supply shouldn’t be much of an issue. TYM seems to be good too but the dealer isn’t too close except for the Bad Boy Tractors. I’m just gonna go to the 3 dealers and see which is like sitting on and operating the most. The Kubota dealer near me is great, I have quite a few Kioti dealers around me but gotta find one I like, I may also sit on a Bad Boy just to cover my bases. Another thing about Kioti is that you get so much more at a lower price. Especially if you get an SE model that has the extra hydraulics from the factory and other little things.

I agree on getting anything repaired takes a lot longer. I purchased a used John Deere. It was from a private sale. Once owned I discovered it needed service. I called the dealer was told two to three weeks turn around time. Took it there. Three weeks later I call was told it was it was going to be looked at in a couple days still had two units ahead of it. Week five I drive to dealership to see it hadn’t been looked at. Interesting was units brought in after it had been serviced. Six years earlier I had the same dealership actually charge me for my parts then use my parts to repair someone else’s tractor. The guy in service was we had a better customer need them for his repair. The owner of the dealership wasn’t happy when I called him to tell him what I was told. I suspect they happened to do the same on this repair moved me lower on the list. Bad thing is now you can’t go to another dealership because they are all owned by the same group

Loved this video Courtney. Just sharing your heart on this one. Making a difficult situation to talk about just sound very logical, thank you. In regard to the pickups on this video. In Japan all the Koi breeders up in the mountains use these pickups exclusively. The country of Japan sells them these trucks at discounted rates because they are Koi Farmers. In the Nagasaki Mountains they have a lot of Koi breeders and you see these trucks running up and down the mountains traveling to their mud ponds each and everyday. So interesting that you were able to pick up some of these pickups, haha. Just so you know the most expensive koi sold to date so far was 1.7 million dollars. It’s become such a huge hobby and thousands go every year during harvest in October to buy Koi or see how the koi they purchased years ago are growing in Japan. Thought you might like to know.

I shopped far and wide between a Kubota (B01) and Kioti (CX) TLBs... Got quotes from over a dozen dealers. I wanted the Kubota, but it was $4000 more for less capabilities. But the bigger issue was availability: Kubota had no end in sight, no ETA for backhoes. Ironically they're the one part of the package that's US sourced. I tell everyone who's shopping: if it's not on the lot and you can't take it home today, look elsewhere... The unknown ETAs are not worth it. Very happy with my Kioti (my second)

Interesting comments. I am a computer nerd, small pot of land and bought a JD 3032E. I bought it because, drive through the farms around here, and they are all JD!! I took mine in yesterday for a 3 pt hitch problem. They put it in immediately, and I am a nobody. Meanwhile, my job alllows me to have Kioti as a customer. They have recently moved into the number 3 spot for mid-market tractors and are aggressively looking at number 2. They acknowledge there is a challenge with parts and service, but they state the challenge is getting dealers they can depend on. My local Hardware/Outdoor equipment provider, brought in the Branson line carried them for almost 6 years, and now they are going away and TYM is no keeping the promises. The Tractor supply industry has some real issues, seems to be the MFG, dealer and supplier are all experiencing challenges. Not sure how to fix them though!

Solis and Summit are by far the best value in 24-25 horse tractors. They come ready to work. When they get their dealership network established, they will become the standard IMHO. My dream tractor would be a Summit or Solis in a Branson/TYM big frame 2515 with their lifting capacities. And don't forget the phone charger, blue tooth hook-up on the TYM T25. Very nice. I'm getting old. Gimme those side steps, arm rests, and suspension seats. Crap, started to rant, sorry.

Bought a Kubota from a local dealer. Reviewed JD, LS & Mahindra. Mahindra dealer too far away, JD close but they have restrictions on who services them. Kubota dealer had a bad reputation but I didn’t find that to be true. Courteous, responsive & customer focused. Just had 400 hour service. They picked it up & brought it back for $100. It was washed, the finish mower was cleaned & blades were sharpened. They even took my wife’s Toro garden tractor & serviced it.

I was a dedicated fanboy for John Deere tractors after watching Courtney here on this channel and Tim on Tractor Time with Tim. Well, when it came time to buy I priced the JD 1025r and the Kubota BX. JD dealer is 15 miles from my house. The Kubota dealer was 6 miles. I went to the Bad Boy Tractor dealer 21 miles away. I fell in love with the BB 1022 immediately! I bought the 1022 with FEL, backhoe and pallet forks for the same price as a stock tractor from JD or Kubota. My only issue is aftermarket accessories are hard to buy as small manufactures don’t try to address this market segment. JUfabworks is coming out with a Master Workplate that will fit my BB. It would serve all these guys well if they would think that Bad Boy, Branson and TYM are the same. I need front tie down points, side step and other cool accessories just like JD and Kubota.

i had an LS MT347. i didnt have it all that long, but I loved it. it seemed very well built and it was a beast. it was seriously twice the tractor that you could get from kubota or deere for the same money. when i priced them out, that 47 hp tractor was the same price as the kubota and deere 25 hp models. it was 4500 lbs compared to those being around 2500 lbs, and it had a loader lift capacity of like 2,750 lbs vs their 1500 lbs.. and it had all of the exact same features. it wasnt lacking any of the goodies the name brands have. i couldnt justify getting such a smaller tractor for the same money just because of the name. it seemed like it would have lasted a really long time and was built very well. the loader was a beast. the only reason i sold it is becaused i moved to a property that i didnt think i would need a tractor for, and i dont have a shop or anything to keep it inside . i actually wish i would have kept it now that i have a couple projects in mind. o well. i didnt have it long enough to expereince any issues, but i am definitely a fan of that tractor

The guys at Summit may be on to something by selling through retail outlets and having a network for parts and service. I like the Summit tractors, but i still think it is too early to know if it will succeed. Just one other thing to add to the discussion is resale value. I don't know about the other brands, but I do know that JD and Kubota hold their values well. Many of us might have a change in needs and the resale value will come up. I did look up Summit, because they are available in our area throught Atwoods. I found it interesting that many of their King Kutter attachments are available in that Summit green.

That's funny, I had the EXACT opposite experience 6 years ago here in Biloxi MS. The Kubota dealer was disinterested in my $$$ even though I actually wanted to spend more than we originally discussed! The BX23 TLB was too small so I wanted to move up to the next series, with a backhoe for a substantial premium nonetheless. I asked him to get me a package price but I wanted to ink a deal that day! I also discussed purchases with the JD dealer in Gulfport a few days earlier and had options there as well. I really thought I was going orange but at the end of the day the Kubota dealer didn't return my call until AFTER I bought the JD 1025R. I never looked back and love my JD SCUT! Green paint is expensive but orange paint has become obnoxious! As they always say: "your results may vary".

I went and looked at a Solis H24 today and had some concerns. The buckets seemed thinner, and the shifting levers were already coroding an inch down from knob. It is a new tractor on lot so I thought OK maybe just one. However, the other 2, same issue. But on these the paint was already chipping off the top of the bucket and rusting. Rust spots the size of a baseball. The salesman said, "Go look at any tractor out there they all have Rust. They carry TYM and also LS. When you said summit is made by same company as Solis, that phrase of cheap metal got my attention. What's your take on this Solis issue I see. Here in Canada they have the tractor on for $26k loader and backhoe included. Approximately 10k cheaper then most.

In retrospect, I should have done more research, but I went with Deere because the dealership is a local, family run small business and they’re 4 miles from my house. I’ve had it serviced and a warranty repair (improperly installed gasket from the factory) done at the same time. It took 3 months to get my tractor in, and they kept it for a month, and it was $100. for them to transport it. When I got it back, there was corrosion on the battery terminal, so I’m wondering how thorough the service was. But what has disappointed me most is the loader arms are made in China. So, in the future, I will definitely be looking at the “budget brands”.

This is the thing most people fail to recognize. Every manufacturer uses a GLOBAL supply chain. The final assembly may have been performed in the US but those components were manufactured in factories all over the world including China, Taiwan, India, etc. Very few things are truly 100% American made. Most who claim it are actually sourcing their components from suppliers in the US who get their raw materials from overseas.

Good/bad dealership is the way to go. When shopping for my tractor I really WANTED to buy at a local dealership, I could have driven the tractor home it was that close. I went in and talked to the sales “manager” telling him what I wanted and asked to get a quote. He was “busy” at the time - strike one. Said he would put a package together and get it to me - never an email or call. Strike two and three! If they are too busy to even help you out I can only ponder what happens if there are service issues! There are good and bad dealers even with green or orange; don’t be fooled! Buy from the best dealer you feel good about, my green dealer is one of 4 in our metro and the furthest from my homestead; but was willing to go the extra mile to make sure I had what we needed.

You didn't mention brand, but that sounds like the JD dealers near me. If you are buying anything less than a $300k combine don't expect an email or call back or more than "the specs are online." When I asked about a 2038R one dealer totally ignored me and the other said they might be able to get me one in five months if I left a deposit and paid full MSRP upon delivery. Like they were doing me a favor to sell me a tractor sight-unseen.

This is something I've been torn with over past 6 months. Pay the more money for a big name or pay the similar but get all the attachments I need. The service part is my biggest concern, but I've heard most of these value brands have had very little issues. I'd love to have JD or Kubota, but paying 5-10k for the same basic tractor that I will be using maybe 5 times a month on my hunting land is hard to justify. That price difference is enough to buy all the attachments I need. I've been looking at Bad Boy 3026 or 4025, been really interested in these. I like the Summit, but the closes dealer is 6 hrs away.

I had to borrow a truck and trailer to bring it home in the first place. There are Kubota dealers in the area also (50 or more miles, Deere is 10 minutes) and I believe one that sells Branson (30 miles). I would look at Summit or Kioti if we had dealers. Time is money as they say, so I went with what's local. 2.5 years and one issue right away, none since then. I can't complain.

Five years ago I purchased a Nortrac 35xt and towards the end of the first season the hydraulic gear pump went out stranding it in the middle of the woods. Northerntool support was great and it was a learning lesson in trying to figure out which parts were the correct one for the engine model I had...not as easy as it should have been, which is the downside to the manuals that come from the manufacturer in China but eventually with the support person over the phone did identify it. It was during covid so it took 4 months to get the no charge part and in the mean time I was able to find another one in about 2-3 weeks. After reviewing all the other tractors out there I'd say I'd love to get a John Deere but they are simply out of my price range. Even the used ones are priced either at or close to where the value tractor prices come in. As long as you're handy and there's no major engine work that needs to be performed and can get parts, value is a great way to go. I'm looking forward to when Summit Tractors comes closer to my area. That will be my next one.
