I just got this tablet few hour ago. My first impression after setting up 1. It is heavier than I thought it would be. 2. The sound is lower. Not the best of speakers. 3. The screen and touch is satisfactory. good for the money aside these, i am very satisfied

Right on the money with your assessment. If you can live with those tradeoffs vs more expensive Samsung or Android based tablets or iPads then it holds its own.

I'd consider it, if only it had USB Display out. I'd use it with an Xreal One Pro which I'll get in March.

@TheUberTrekkie Chuwi does state that it has "full-featured USB C ports" whatever that means.

What do you think comparing this with a microsoft surface 6/7 pro second handed (has similar price)
@techknowluxАй бұрын
@gabirodriguez5259 I don't have one but I'd love to get do this comparison. I would think the Surface wins or it will be very close simply because it's available in more markets, it a premium device from Microsoft (they don't make that many as it is).

Both could have issues. The 7 was released Jan. 2021. So 4 years old in a month. If used and used a lot, it may have a lot of charge cycles on the battery. The 7 pro looks like it is just screws. The 6 is obviously older and needs a heat gun and luck to get the back off. I haven't seen any attempt to take one of these apart yet. That is, if that is important to you. Android "People" tend to use Good Drive. I know I do on the phone and chrome book. On my windows laptops I rely on the internal storage. Do the 6 + 7 have easily removeable storage? The 7 probably does because of the screws. Chuwi has removable storage, hopefully you don't destroy the unit trying to salvage it.

this or chuwi ubookX ? which one in your opinion is best ?
@techknowlux2 ай бұрын
The UbookX might give you a bit more performance but they're ultra low power CPUs so not true multi-tasking. it is also a bit more expensive unless you can find a great deal on it.

can people install Linux on it?
@arrsenio98752 ай бұрын
Yes… anything that can run windows can run Linux.
@techknowlux2 ай бұрын
@arrsenio9875. Not necessarily. If there are components that are non-standard or don't have Linux drivers, not everything will work. Maybe I'll do a video showing how to run Linux on this device. @doudouban. Great suggestion.
@arrsenio98752 ай бұрын
@@techknowlux a few niche devices that can run windows can’t run certain versions on Linux* But for nearly every other device, yes, you can.

for your reference, webcam not working. it uses ipu6 and mainline driver for this specific sensor is not working. I don't know why my microphone recording is broken in some way(loud "background" noises with glicthes.) but it is able to capture some voices (at least) don't know whether it is my configuration error. tested on fedora41 kernel 6.11.8. Battery lasts about 5 hours with libreoffice and sometimes youtube video on Gnome Wayland. other functions works fine for me now.

@@huajunwen7307thanks for the info. I fine that something is always broken. I have a 2017 Dell latitude 5285 tablet that would benefit from running Linux and my camera also doesn't work in any flavor of the OS. Same goes for an HP hp pro tablet 608 g1.
