It’s concerning how things are being handled right now, especially with the lack of support for people with disabilities. Grateful for James Whisman, who continues to share valuable financial insights! Even with the current economic challenges, I was able to see gains of over $65,000 last month.

Where should I start as someone new to investing? Any recommendations on platforms or strategies? If anyone has advice, I’d appreciate it. Also, how can I get in touch with him?

No to mutual funds. I took that advice decades ago. If you are lucky your mutual fund will keep up with inflation, that's it. There is only one way that really pays off. Learn how to read financial reports & stock charts. Then spend the time doing the research. Buy stocks you plan on holding for the next decade not the next ten minutes. Mutual funds will get you nowhere. You might be successful as a trader for a while, but traders always trade too long and eventually lose all those quick high gains they made. Educate yourself, do your own research, and invest for the long term. You'll out perform the traders and mutual funds.

I agree with educating yourself, doing your own research, and investing long term, but one of my portfolios is made up of mutual funds that have delivered incredible returns despite the economic downturns during the last 20 years. For example, just one of those funds, a Vanguard fund, has delivered over 140% returns to date.

@@AlexAponte-c4h good. I'm glad they have worked out for you. If they had worked out for me I would have stayed with mutual funds too. I bought the mutual funds my broker suggested (another mistake) and didn't research them (another mistake).

@@joecombs7468 I'm 55 now, but when I was in my 20s, I too had a broker from Smith Barney managing my portfolio that did a poor job. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention to it and several years went by only to find out I was a hot mess. You have to do the work and do your own research. I'm still learning and currently riding the Ai boom that we're having.

My spouse is already panicking, so many questions! will the rate cut lead to inflation? I'm very worried about my $1million stock portfolio losing value. Do i move to 100% cash? What strategies should I be employing in my portfolio right now?

I've been through the 'bonds and beating stocks' periods since the 90s with no bonds and with all aggressive stock mutual funds. At 63, my IRA and cash accounts are far more than I expected for my retirement. I can easily handle a worst-case stock crash, Thanks to my trade advisor Gabriel Alberto William

Wow!!! Another BS advertisement for a POS "financial advisor" masquerading as a comment. How original -- *NOT* 🤣🤣🤣🤣
