Dear Pat, I'm not an entrepreneur anymore, I had a business that tanked a few years ago. But I really enjoy watching these video's. You are a great public speaker. I had a music CD selling business a few years ago, where I sold my own music. But never built it up from it being just me doing all the work, and didn't know how to self promote. You have given me hope to maybe restart my business and create more merchandise to sell, and ideas on how to delegate up, and self promote. I really enjoy these video's keep up the good work. -Joey Allison

i think the reason why it tanked is beacuse ...................music cds are a thing of the past now...............ALMOST... i mean a lot of artists are now making revenue off STREAMING SALES......yeah artists do make money off physical cds too but streaming sales are the wa y of the future...............and pppl selling music out there trunk is definitely old school,,,u ever tried youtube?? soundcloud? etc etc

I once ran a social psych experiment where I presented two speeches to a college speech class. In the first speech, I was confident and 100% factually incorrect but delivered with confidence and flawlessly. In the second speech to a different class, I was 100% factually correct but delivered it with lots of pauses, ummms...ahhhsss...Guess which one the students rated as factually accurate? The one presented with confidence! Now, you need to be correct but you can be correct and undermine yourself. If something is true and worth saying, might as well be confident! Great job Patrick!

Hour channel has such a valuable information. You point out so many important things, I didn't even know they matter. In your other video you talked how being overweight can cause someone make less money. That is an eye opening for me. I better care how I look if I want to earn more. Often by chasing money we neglect our health and look, but maybe by less chasing and taking more time and spend a little more on beauty products and healthy things we can earn a lot more than it costs to look good.

At an job interview I was asked about a former employer. An employer I did NOT like working for. I thought of every positive but truthful thing I could say about the company & told that to my interviewer. Months later, I found out that was part of the reason I got the job. The interviewer also knew the company. He didn't like them either. But he was impressed that I was honest without bashing the other company.

I’m going come back here 3 years from now since learning from YOU “PAT” and I will be a multi millionaire. Thank you in advance!!! 💯
@topspot48344 жыл бұрын
What's your plan? 3 years isn't a lot of time to make millions, especially if you're reinvesting into your company ... My advice, and this is coming from a 41 year old who failed multiple times in business, but finally got my shit straight a few years ago ... Don't think about being rich, #1 RULE: think about solving a problem people have a delivering a solution that's better than your competition. If you can execute that, whether you're the next Amazon or own the best landscaping business in your town, you'll be successful. Personally, I value time more than anything else (the older the get the more valuable it becomes). I wanted to set something up where I can free up as much of it as possible. I ultimately decided that I'd work all day everyday, 8 months out of the year (with a 1 week break in the middle) in exchange for 4 months off. Whether I made $150k or $1.5 million, or drove a Model 3 or Model S, that wasn't important to me. I just wanted to be able to take a couple vacations a year, pay the bills, and provide a comfortable future for me and my family. Figure out what you want, and if you wanna make $5 million a year, drive a Lamborghini and have a different girlfriend in every city, that's cool too. Nothing wrong with any of that. The point is find out what you want, and execute a plan that can get you there. Maybe it takes a year, maybe it takes 10, but be realistic, and if you can do my #1 rule from above, you'll be successful. Good luck!

Pat, For your edification, the phrase "self-promote himself" is a redundant statement, similar to the phrase "in between." One can say "between" which is the correct way to say what people mean when they say, "in between." Saying "promote yourself" is the correct form of saying "self-promote yourself." Pat, I love your advice on how to promote yourself without specifically talking about yourself. The Yale and Yankee example says it best. Is there a book that you have read that strongly impacted you and taught you this type of thinking and speaking?

Hahaha! This video had me cracking up Pat. We tend to overly self promote or under self promote ourselves. Trying to find a balance . Those were very good points you made. I sure hope I don’t come off as annoying to anyone. Yikes! Took a lot of notes tonight. Thanks again for your time Pat.
