This is my second post on this comment section as I was thinking more about what happened while I was working out. I will disclose that I’m a big PBD fan and will continue to be one-but the more that I think about it-the more that I think that he got his hand caught in the cookie jar. He knows that the overal structure of his show is a panel that generally features the same people (the home team). It is absolutely reasonable for anybody that gets approached by him to come on the podcast for a panel discussion to assume that “panel” would mean that it would be him, the normal guys, and the person receiving the invitation. There is no debate that a podcast featuring Rolland and Jason having a back and forth would capture far more interest and eyeballs than just the “home team and Jason” and just the “home team and Rolland” doing separate individual podcasts. There is also no doubt that the appearance fees involved in getting both of these men to agree to have such an event on a platform that is not their own would be a lot higher than just them each speaking to PBD/home team individually. PBD is a business man. He tried to manipulate paying both of these men standard appearance fees to get an event that would normally require paying far more than that. He got caught being cheap and is tryign to use the ambiguity around the word “panel” as his scapegoat. I’ll continue to support and watch-because I think he’s a good guy and his conversations are very valuable to society-but moving forward-I’d recommend against these slick business practices. You should have moved on past them the moment you got out of the insurance industry.

All the issues that happened after that are just the symptoms from your original mistake. Jason isnt without fault too but this is your show not his. @zackattack635 Жыл бұрын
@@bloodkeper12 “panel” has always been presented as his normal guys, his “Home Team”. If you want a debate, call it a debate and tell the parties the details. PBD would never bring on Ben Shapiro and sneakily add David Pakman to the panel without prior arrangement. Shapiro would feel disrespected and leave. Pat would have more respect for Shapiro than to do that… which is Whitlock’s point. Why did Pat think it was okay to disrespect him?

@bloodkeper12 What say panel? When you are a professional , you make very clear your intentions. If it was a panel, he should not have told Jason it was about him and his history/show in the email. He used the word interview. It is the host's responsibility to make very clear what the format is, esp since he has interviewed people one on one. Patrick saw an opportunity for a dog fight and changed at the last minute. Unprofessional. And Jason was not scared of Martin. He has debated him before and knows it's a waste of time, just like it was for Patrick.

Was totally unaware of Whitlock coming on as a guest or what he said about it, but I like that you're clearing the air with the EMAIL chain, though I can see on his side how you could be clearer about whose coming on with him as well. And to your credit, you admitted that you're going to course correct in that protocol, so good job 👍.

@RideshareDaily Жыл бұрын
@@lloydgray829 That's possible. Maybe that was the intent, but how would you or I know? Maybe PBD was looking for fireworks between the two guests, but... we don't know that, and I think the EMAIL chain, and the admission that the podcast team will learn from this and course correct seems to me to show an honest mistake in how Whitlock was handled. It was a mistake. PBD admits that. I'm sure he would have rathered podcast with both guests that day. I can certainly understand why Whitlock would feel it was an intentional move on PBD's part. I get it. But we don't know that. To me it was just a missed opportunity for all of them content-wise. At the same time, I'm not really a fan of the conversation that was published with RM, because I think it was more entertainment than anything else.

@@RideshareDaily It could have went both ways… nonetheless, when someone is doing a panel interview: The guest are ALWAYS Notified who will be attending this way; they are prepared for the topics & segments… You can’t schedule an interview w/ proper protocols-especially when you have a guest like Roland Martin who’s mainly “emotional” driven w/ takes that lack factual data to backup most of his claims… In the end, I still rock w/ PBD & I’ll glad he’s cleaning it up… But let’s keep it real… When you say an panel interview… You would think his normal podcast members b/c it’s about 4 of them alllllll ttthhhheeee Timmmeeee TOGETHER!!! I watched PBD and Jason’s videos multiple times. 1) PBD’s podcast is always a panel, so it’s reasonable to assume “the panel” is the home team. 2) For months, valuetainment pursued him on the basis of discussing his career. 3) Everything was so last minute - I don’t think PBD was acting in bad faith. 4) I think PBD watched a lot more Whitlock than Whitlock watched PBD.

Roland did an interview with Jason like 4 years ago if you watch it you will realize why he wouldn’t want to be on panel with him. Roland interrupted him the entire time and take what he was saying and twist it to what he believed he was saying and not what actually was said. He just wanted to argue with him. It’s on Roland’s channel.

PBD's team made a mistake so glad they are being somewhat accountable. They never mentioned Roland in the initial emails and the initial correspondence was about doing a solo interview, so it is a tad sly to change it to a panel a few days before when someone has already booked the time to come in. That info could of easily been missed when you get as many emails as I'm sure Jason does. He's already debated and ruined Roland, no need to keep kicking a dead horse. Honestly the episode with Roland alone wasn't entertaining.

This is lame. I don't like Jason Whitlock, nor Roland Martin. But its clear you tried to set up this debate between them for views right after the Tyre Nichols situations. Why describe it as a "panel discussion" when its really a 1 v 1 debate? Obviously the guest, who you previously said would be the only guest, would expect the "panel" to only include themselves and the hosts (because thats what they previously agreed to). Why just call it a "panel discussion" instead of telling everyone exactly who would be on the panel? Why go through the trouble of calling the limo driver and saying "make sure you take your time and bring him through the back?" Even if there was no rush, it makes no sense to tell the driver to just waste time on the roads when you could have the guest actually in the studio? All the doo-doo don't pass the smell test.

I think the initial email should have stated who was on the panel. Jason may have thought the panel was the normal show’s panel.

Pat, after watching this video, I went to see who Jason Whitlock is (I assumed I would know who he was considering I follow many conservative commentators). I found the video where he thinks he was setup by VT. After watching your video and his, I can see how this happened. I'm not going to go through the whole scenario, but I can see how he could be a little suspicious of how this played out. I highly respect you and you did a great job explaining your intentions but I can also see how he must have felt. After watching his video, he explained that he has a history with Roland. He is spot on about Roland being a paid attack dog for the left. I can see why he wouldn't want to waste his time sitting through the garbage salad that Roland speaks. You wouldn't want to do that either. It would look more like a episode of Jerry Springer. Would you invite Thomas Sowell or Milton Freidman on to discuss and issue with someone like Roland? I would hope not. When it comes to "debating" people like Roland, there is no debate because people like him have no intention on debating. He only knows how to mudsling lies. People like Roland don't need to be given a platform to promote their hate. I could see that even you were upset with him during the podcast. And you only dealt with him one time. I sometimes do panel discussions in my industry and the panel is always defined days before the discussion. I think the biggest mistake was not making those involved aware of who they would be debating. I know you made it clear that VT would never do that again. That's why I respect you. You learn from your mistakes. I pray that VT and Jason have a conversation about this and apologies are offered in both directions.

PBD its shame you cannot understand Whitlocks position. There was NO need for you to do this. YOU and your team should have made clear who the panel was consisting of weeks before and let him decide what he wanted to do. No need to show the email exchange. You guys should have just apologized and gotten him on another day. It makes you all look small by basically justifying yourselves and using your platform to make Whitlock look bad. Roland is a disgrace and if you saw him debate Douglas Murray you would understand why Whitlock did not want to bother. You’re in the business of getting eyeballs but if you’re going to use the adage, by any means necessary then there’s no need to waste our time.
