Hi. I like your video and I checked a view of them. As I read the technical Manual of some valve I was surprised of the copper disk. Dont you take the copper disk out? Do you clean the valve without removing it?

Yes, in the video we cleaned the valve without removing the burst disk. As mentioned in video description, although we do not show the procedure in this video, we recommend that the burst disk also be replaced when a cylinder is hydro tested and annually if the cylinder is known to have been overfilled. However, the burst disk requires special tools to install (and sometimes to remove) so this is outside the realm of the typical diver.

@@DiveGearExpress I believe Fabio is talking about the copper sealing disk (crush washer) under the bonnet nut. I also read that this seal is a one-time use and should be replaced any time you remove the bonnet nut, but it does not appear you have replaced it or even sell it on your store site. Please advise.

@@christurner7288 This is a DGX brand valve and the design uses an o-ring for the seal, there is no crush washer.

Correct, we don't show use of lubricant and don't generally recommend it in Nitox Ready applications. Under most circumstances, lubricant is properly used very sparingly or not at all. In nearly all SCUBA applications, if you can see the lubricant then you have used too much. Lubricant is often improperly used excessively, and prior to use any existing lubrication should be completely removed before reapplying new lubricant. Lubricant is NOT a "sealant" and is not used to create a seal. Most lubricant is used with dynamic seals in regulators to reduce excessive wear. Lubricant is also used in rebreathers to ease assembly of loop components that incorporate very tight connections. As a general rule, the O-rings used with static seals in SCUBA applications should not be lubricated at all. The lubricant just causes contamination to stick to the surface of the O-ring and results in more problems with a static seal than any dubious benefit the lubricant might provide. Dive Gear Express does not recommend the use of any lubricant when installing SCUBA valves in cylinders for Nitrox applications.
