Thank you very much. Such detail and clarity. You gave me the confidence to service my valves. All turning effortlessly now. Keep up the great work!!

Good info...... Thanks..... But how long we need to clean the valve......
@billhyatt31595 жыл бұрын
thanks very helpful only one note my manifold and valves are made buy Apex and they use an allen key (Hex drive.) the same size as is used for removing an A clamp adaptor insert, to remove the handles not a split flat bit screw driver took me a while to work this out!

19:12 on recreational cylinders, we see dive shops and manufactures suggesting crystal lune be applied to the valve threads before screwing into the dive cylinder. Is it common practice to omit the grease when performing an O2 cleaning or one of those debatable points of preferance?

At 16:08 when you're lubricating the o-rings on the stem, are you also lubricating the threads on the stem?

looks great, but what about servicing the isolation valve between the first stages? Can you please do a video on that ?
@benbos19252 жыл бұрын
That is exactly the same as the other valves.

beautiful video! if special hydrocarbon free detergent is not available then fairy or dishwasher powder or washing machine powder or similar household detergents do leave hydrocarbon traces on the metal parts? are not safe for 100% oxygen?

Great video! Do you have a link for the airgun that connects to a regulator 1st stage? And for the 'split-screwdriver' tool used to open the knob retainer on the valve?
@benbos19255 жыл бұрын
Pathless where do you live? But find a “bestdivers” dealer they have that kind of stuff. Sesrch for valve tool. The airgun i made myself. Screwed in an inflator coupling into a normal lp airgun
@hoyerdiving99745 жыл бұрын
@@benbos1925 Thanks for the tip! I'm based in Denmark. Managed to find an airgun that will connect to my 1st stage, but haven't been able to track down one of these valve tools yet.

Struck or stuck as in seized? Likely locked by unmanaged salt water that has seized. Have you tried soaking the valve in fresh water for a period of time?

Thanks for the vid. Just one question. Is this the actual way you O2 clean your valves or is this just for demonstration purposes? I'm now feeling a bit too anal the way I do mine. :-D
@MichaelWerle3 жыл бұрын
I was thinking that as well.. going on about hydrocarbon free cleaning fluid, but no final inspection with UV lights, uses a paper towel (hydrocarbons!) to dry the components, and not wearing nitrile gloves when reassembling.. but again, maybe I've also been taught to be too anal when it comes to O2 clean.. after all it's mainly the outside parts that are being handled.

Cool

Oxygen clean, but... no nitrile gloves. Also is the plier oxyge clean? A lot of places to introduce hydrocarbons to the internal parts of the valve. Tainki into account that yhe internals should handle really high pressure O2! Not very professional.
@SeattleRingHunter Жыл бұрын
I was quite concerned with the bare hands handling of the cleaned components. Let’s face it most bench air compressors used to air blast parts dry needs to be seriously considered as to what quality of air is being used. 😮
@bevanjones748019 күн бұрын
That and using a rag to dry oxygen cleaned parts! Yikes.
