Flamie Kaname is so full of himself just because hes a pure blood, we all know he just wants Yuki's blood he even says that, when zero drank her blood, he doesnt want anyone else drinking her blood wich means he wants to and the only reason he saved her was so he can have her blood, where as zero is very loyal and she had spent more time with him plus zero ( where im up to please dont give me spoilers ) needs her much more than Kuran right now, and I really think that ZeroxYuki would better than KuranxYuki .

You do realise he wasn't actually her brother if you pay attention to the show as well as read the manga. Her brother died when rido fed the infant to their ancestor who is the kaname we know now. He is the original Kuran.

Mariah Rush I don’t think you understand his character at all. His hatred of vampires include himself. He would’ve killed himself if Yuki hadn’t made him promise not to. Why should he be grateful to vampires that treat him like shit? That he sees treat human as food or toys? In the manga, you see Kaname is partially responsible for the death of his family and it wasn’t an accident. As for Yuki, she had just been transformed into a pure blood vampire, the type of vampire he hates the most, the ones that turn humans into level e and killed his family. It’s a big shock and frankly he’s a traumatized teen.

Mélanie ok lmfao? first off kaname literally did nothing to zero he could’ve easily killed him if he wanted to but no he decided to keep him alive cause he knew yuki would’ve hated him if he did end up killing him. in the anime there are times when kaname could just be looking and zero would insult him. kaname wasn’t doing any harm to zero or yuki or anyone else. yuki was just being straight up annoying and ungrateful. you don’t have to like someone but insulting them for even just breathing or walking is too much.

...I love Vampire Knight, but...even I have to admit that there are only four things that kept me entertained. 1) the music is a total earworm for me. 2) Kaname is still mysterious to me. 3) Zero is so sad and kinda pitiful. 4) ...I kid you not...when I watch some anime shows with my parents and it starts to get boring, I would mute it so my dad could guess what they're saying and "fandub" in a sense, and his own dub was more interesting and funny and I'm sad that I didn't record his dub of Vampire Knight.

Because nobody wanted a cheap ending where she chooses both. Although, the story showed that she loved Zero and that's the reason Kaname crazily decided to lock her up because he knew she loved Zero and wanted her to stay away from him. Yuki was mostly going to Kaname because she felt like she owed him since he did so much for her and brought her back to protect her from her creepy uncle... And Kaname often threw what he did for her in her face and seemed to use her as a tool in manga. But hey that's my opinion.

It’s explained better in the manga why Zero behaves the way he did. The anime never had time to develop him so he sorta got stuck at ‘self loathing broody asshole’ In the manga, we get more flashbacks showing Zero’s bloodlust begin, when he got the tattoo, when he truly started to shut Yuuki out. It shows why despite being a year older than her he was in her classes. He skipped the first year because he was afraid of hurting people. Zero’s story is a lot more complex in the manga but sadly the anime barely went past volume 6. There was like 2/3rds left of the manga. The same can be said of Kaname and Yuuki. Yuuki felt very one dimensional in the anime, and this wasn’t helped by her rookie VA who did try her best, but still fell flat. In the Manga, during Rido’s resurrection, Yuuki actually does quite a bit more than what the anime shows. She does more to protect Yori than just stand in front of her with her arms out. She’s not rendered helpless by Rido, in fact, almost none of the Rido Ressurection lines up between media. The Manga is completely different in this aspect. After this, even with Kaname hiding her in the basement home her parents made, Yuuki grows as a person, she develops a strong friendship with Hanabusa and when she rejoins the academy, she has a much more intelligent head on her shoulders (even if she is still a little ditzy, but that’s just part of her quirks) she took the initiative during Sara’s blood tablet fiasco. And during the incident with the Forge at the Hunter’s Association she directly takes a stand against Kaname, who has been attacking purebloods (yes she goes back to him for a time, but y’know, the character development is still there.) Kaname’s strange personality was given a lot more light when the manga revealed his origins, and we’re given nuance in how Rido’s blood seems to haunt him, creating ghostly visages of the dead Kuran. Whilst I still didn’t like him much, I managed to care enough that his sacrifice at the end tugged my heartstrings a little bit.

Such a shame that Vampire Night turned out the way it did. When I first heard about this, I was hoping that it was going to be so bad that it was hilarious and potentially a new guilty pleasure, but it turned out just kind of slow and boring. And sometimes, that's the absolute worst thing you can do in an anime. I really do believe that someday, a studio will turn up somewhere that can create a good vampire romance story, but it's DEFINITELY not here, and sadly I don't think it's going to be here any time soon. On the bright side though, at least it's not as bad as Diabolik Lovers

I was so pissed at the direction it went. I the beginning, I loved it. I find the vampire society fascinating and the question it raised being should humans be allowed to kill vampires without trial just because vampires are more dangerous interesting. Too bad they never answered it as well as several other plot holes. The characters made stupid and highly questionable decisions that amount to nothing. What's worse is I found a fanfic series that are way better than the original series; better character motives and origins as well as a more elaborate vampire society and politics.

Not supporting a yaoi ship DOES NOT automatically make a person homophobic. I myself and not a huge fan of yaoi/slash and DESPISE when people write unnecessary yaoi Fruits Basket (my main fandom) fics. Not because I don't support LGBT, but because I don't support the SHIPS. Because personally, I think it's really stupid to take two canonically straight characters in HEALTHY relationships, pull them out of said relationships and shove them together because "OMG SEW HAWT!" shinobi warrior twilight couldn’t even portray a real vampire on screen. If they had, I might agree with you. There’s only two acceptable outcomes for a vampire who stands in the sun. The myth: they combust into ash. Or the Dracula fact: fucking nothing happens because vampires never had a weakness to sunlight in Bram Stoker. The idea that vampires can’t go in the sun FOR ANY REASON, that shit is dumb as fucking hell. Those aren’t real vampires. They’re fucking bullshit fakes. Get it out of my sight. It's not ground breaking or anything but I like very much. I've never read the Manga and don't plan to. I thought for what it did well (Zero & Kaname's Plot & the overall universe), it did very well. But I agree that Yuki can be annoying and admittedly the show can be talky and repetitive in the beginning, however it significantly improved later in the first season and got better at showing rather than telling. I would also like to point out that Yuki did try to redeem herself in the end. And I always felt she acted the way that she did because she was depressed and confused and in general, had no idea what to do to help Zero or Kaname, which doesn't make her inherently bad, just unknowledgeable about how to help those in pain. I'll also admit that there are some strange parallels with twilight. I can't believe you didn't comment on the soundtrack. I think the OST is awesome, how did such as small relatively low-budget anime get great such a great musical score ?!?!

While I thought this show was "meh" there is something about it that I will praise to high heaven... the music. Oh my God, this soundtrack is dripping with Gothic atmosphere. The horror organ with dramatic strings when Zero bites Yuki, and the kinda sad theme for Zero given his backstory and Kaname's theme is just downright awesome. The show may have sucked but the music was just perfect.

I binge watched Vampire Knight over and over. I loved a lot about that show. Zero especially. His struggle between hating vampires and becoming one was amazing for me. I enjoyed his interactions with Kaname. I thought Kaname was such a sly underhanded manipulator, and almost no one seemed to pick up on that. He could have easily helped Zero get the blood of his maker, but instead he made certain Zero would need to become dependent on drinking blood from him and Yuki. Zero was a unique vampire, having the strength to defy his maker and hold off becoming a level E for so long. I know a lot of people got caught up in the 'love triangle' but I thought that was a misdirection from the real meat of the story. I would have loved to see the anime take it further, and seen what Kaname had in mind for Zero. I could read the manga, I guess, but I have not got around to it yet. The Kaname/ Zero conflict was right up there with L/Light from Death Note for me.

One thing that the series always highlighted about Zero is his willpower, you always see him struggling with what fate imposes on him (the death of his parents, the fate of the hunting twins, becoming what he hates the most, his feelings towards Yuuki, etc), being unpredictable even for Kaname (who is the king of control and manipulation). That unpredictability is mixed with the kindness, by far one of the most selfless people in the series. Zero is really a weird vampire case, he always was but the series is all about Yuuki and a lot of things were left unfinished.

Actually, Yuki is the only one pronouncing it right. Ka-na-me is the correct pronunciation for Kaname. I speak a bit of Japanese, so when Yuki is saying the name right, the rest are saying Ka-Na-Mei, which is incorrect. A little history lesson on Japanese pronunciation everyone! Gosh i used to love this anime and i NEVER SAW the toxic relations in it untill last year... i'm a bit ashamed of it! Glad i'm not the only one who finds disgusting that Yuki MARRIED HER BROTHER and that's it's a tradition for pure blood vampires. Seriously, one of them is crazy if he finds it romantic. Marrying your sister or brother is not cute, it's disgusting XS You know what would be the true happy ending? Killing Kaname, the real villain of the anime (Rido killed a lot of innocents girls BUT it's nothing compare to all the cruel things his nephew did. ) Making Yuki's vampire side awake and making Zero teaching her how to kill vampires. Both will live together but won't be married, Yuki will become a vampire huntress. Aido and the others might help them on occasion since she's their leader even if Kaname is gone. Mainly the ONLY reason why I was even interested in the anime in the first place was because of Zero and I became even more interested in it when it was revealed that he had a twin brother. I was all “HELL yes give me that brotherly content” after that I didn’t even care about the romance anymore, I just wanted to see more of Ichiru and his relationship with Zero. Vampire Knight (and Guilty) is one of my favourite series with its unique characters, dramatic story and plot twists all wrapped up in one series. It may be a bit slow to start off, but that's what reeled me in one evening years ago. Each episode made me curious as to what would happen next. If story lines get rushed too quickly then there's not much to look forward to while watching. Instead of the 26 episodes we got, there could only be 13 which doesn't feel like a lot and could feel rushed. Sometimes stories need to take some time to escalate to fully experience them.

Why is it that halfway through the anime Yuki had enormous eyes,I mean anime eyes can get ridiculously big, but OOH MAN DID SHE HAVE BIG EYES. They even covered her cheeks and went down to her mouth....like what?They even went back to somewhat normal anime eyes in season 2 but still...

Yuki is the most bland heroine ever. She does something awesome, then something that makes her decision not be worth anything. I honestly don’t know why Zero liked her. He was always the second choice. He deserved better. The story seriously had no idea where it was going. It’s a shame because I love the art style in the manga and I think the story had potential.

I thought the same thing until I watched Hellsing and JoJo's Bizzare Adventure season 1. To this day, those are the only decent thing I have seen with vampires (though those two are far above decent). I remember when vampires were supposed to be scary.

My favorite vampires in the anime are Zero, Takuma, Aido, Kain, Luca, Shiki and Rima. Thoses characters are likable, have cool powers, are loyal and charming. Also, they respect each other unlike Kaname. Just because he's a pure blood he treat them like slaves; that's so cruel! They don't deserve that ;(

You may also want a Vampire and a Vampire Hunter that alot of people ship and it's a Yaoi to some fangurls, you can watch Owari No Seraph. It has amazing plot and it's hilarious and sweet and sad. Perfect for fangurls in my opinion

**A LOT OF SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT YET WATCHED THE ANIME OR READ THE MANGA!** I ended up finding some manga in my school's library. Vampire Knight sounded like a great manga, to begin with, so I've borrowed it. When I read it, it ended up Kanama quoting, "I can't stand that you were bitten by someone else." or something like that. I was disappointed about the ending and wanted to buy the whole manga until my friend told me that I can watch it on Netflix. I began watching it and ended up finishing it in one day. (or 1 and a half) It was intense, not going to lie. But the last episode got me. When Yuki turned into a vampire, it just- It hurts. I really expected Zero and Yuki to end up together, their relationship was something...Really interesting. I was just EXPECTING them to end up together. As I said, the last episode got me. Yuki left and while Zero was walking to the gate, he was remembering times when Yuki said, "Zero, are you trying to skip out of work? Come on!" it hurts so much. The anime ending SUCKED. It was GARBAGE. I absolutely hated it. I'm planning on buying the manga since I'm not here for the ending. From what I've heard, Kaname and Zero die later on. (In manga) I'll be honest. This is probably the best and the worst anime I've ever watched. The storyline is truly intense and I love it. Although, the ending of the anime, truly sucks. This makes no sense but I'm literally so upset over the anime ending right now. :(

Worst of all, the Anime kind of ended on a cliffhanger that never got resolved. And a show ending on a cliffhanger before getting cancelled is never a good sign.

I find Vampire Knight just simple, so-bad-it’s-good, anime cheese. I did find Yuki quite punchable though and every episode had me shouting, “WHAT THE FUCK?!” at the screen
