Vampire Lords are ballanced.

Keep in mind his hero has 22 attack and 14 defense. That’s a pretty big buff to the vampires. It would be interesting if he could still win with say 12 attack and 8 defense. Each attack provides an additional 5% more damage and each defense provides 2.5% less damage. We also don’t know if he has offense or armor skills which also help out a lot. Expert offense adds 30% more damage and expert armor I think reduces by 15%. On top of all this, he is using a hero that specializes in vampires which causes their attack and defense to be even higher than normal. Not knocking the vampire lords though. They are a strong unit.

As long as the vampire can regenerate 40%-50% of the damage taken by a hit from when the AI's stacks are at 100% health, they can easily win the battle without the use of magic.

I can help with that. Once you have all the upgrades and everything at the Necropolis, the Estate gives you access to a special unit known as the Count vampirelord which adds it to your stack. Now what this does is, if the entire vampirelord stack dies, it revives all of them and removes the count vampirelord from the stack. Let me know if it needs more buffs, I'll be happy to come with more ideas. lol

Yeah i play it every year. i fell in love with it at first sight as a kid when it came out and i still do. it is the most interesting game i ever played and so charmful that i cant leave it! i recently downloaded Horn of the Abyss expansion (fan made, blends perfectly with the original) and got me a whole week into it, and i know i will keep playing it for more years if i can haha.

old games is calculated already as chess, this is why I pick randomness and replay ability to build my game. Strategy attributes can be calculated and played by a bot and u will do nothing as new Dota 2 bots... But I think random map generator is still work of art, because u can play for your own rules and make rules for others or play for some tournament system in a ladder as I can see what players are doing now

It has nothing to do with vamps been op or not.. Its great example how to abuse ai to max, lol. Ai cant use champs right as it cant figure out champ damage is based on distance it travels before attack (jousting). Also theres good reson why they are in multyple stacks, not just 1 or 2 and list goes on.. :) It dont work against: Elementals, undead, golem heavy army, army with atleast some half descent ranged units, army with atleast half decent spellcaster, castle attack and against human player, lol.

Thant and animate dead lets you survive non-living units, as well as harder battles with living units. Shit's so broken I end up feeling bad for the ai for using it.

Vokial had 21/14 att/defence, and it definetely made difference that's true. Still.. 44 of any other units (except the neutral dragons and maybe some lvl 7 units) would not be able to do it even with the huge attack/defence. Let alone do it without losses.

They are, i dont see the point of your video. You did the smart thing by moving to the corner that way you only had to deal with 2 stack at a time. Had this been me however i would have waited for your vamp lords to come to me then i would surround attack. They may be the strongest tier 4 unit but thats because the rest of the undead units are crap safe liches/dreads

actually, all the undead units are good or ok. the only ones who aren't that great are the ghost dragons but they still have move 14, 50 dmg and can be reanimated. wights drain mana and have ok speed, the zombies are great for taking hits and skeletons are great with necromancy.

skeletons are midling(stronger than trogs and grems/goblins) but gnolls are stronger, skels requiring necromancy to be useful in numbers. Undead at the start slow armys down alot. zombies are a slightly better but are still slow compared to most tier 2 units and usefulness depends on rng. Its wraiths that drain mana not wights and the mana drain usefullness fades lategame, they still have weak stats and regeneration only useful very early game and rarely so. The ghost is a slightly better improvent on the bone dragon but its still weak when compared to other tier 7 units, and its aging is a hit or miss in terms of usefullness.

yeah, necromancu gives you tonns of them and having that much of them makes them very effective, wights are mostly there to help you early on but they do ok dmg despite not being that tough. the ghost dragon is as much of an upgrade as the other 7 lvl units and of top of that they all have undead that makes them immune to allot of negative spells.

their biggest flaw in my opinion is their purity sine they can't add other non-undead units to their army without them having ruined moral, but none of their units are counter productive (unlike the black dragons who are immune to all spells in the second magic heaviest town that has 2 heroes with resurrection as a base spell)

Undead also dont get morale which can be a game changer puts them at a disadvantage. Black dragons makes armagedon spell very useful though with the infamous drakogedon tactic

this game is fundamentally extremely unbalanced problem isn't in the units and stats, but in game battle mechanics turns the game more into a puzzle solver than a war game which is fun, but loses some immersive-ness and is slightly less realistic

that was my question, too. This video proves absolutely nothing. I mean, everyone that has played Heroes 3 for a while already knows how strong VLs are. And if OP really wanted to prove anything he would have put VLs on a NON-vampire specialist (aka NOT vokial), he would have also set that hero's stats at 0-0-x-x, and he would have put 1 VL up against any other upgraded level 4 creature if he really wanted to prove anything other than the obvious (that VLs are overpowered, which everyone knew anyway..)

Lmao a necromancer with 21 attack vs neutral creatures. Also, how luck they decided to split into stacks just perfect for you to take down. Vampires are a very balanced unit. And I mean it sincirely. Their stats SUCK and if they get focused early on they just instantly die. To abuse them you need to have HORDES of them and even then AI can still kick their ass with proper units (like undeads, elementals) and good spells. And a RL player will kill vampires effortlessly. All you gotta do is snipe them down and attack them with units who don't take retaliation.

Well the main problem are not the vampire lords but the broken hero system. I don't know why 1999 game is still considered by many to b the best of the series. It's soo stupid. In HOMM 6 they fixed it. Heroes provide some attack and defence bonus BUT not that much, especially to high tear units. This is just stupid and ruines the imersion. HOMM6 have a lot of problems BUT have by far the best combat mechanics.
