Hi there, I was the teamleader for the original WoD Mod for VTM:R back in the day. It is hard for me to be excited about modding projects these days but this one stood out to me. I wish you all great luck in sailing this one home.

​@@Guzioofor a few reasons a few folks have a hunch that games in development hell tends to come out poorly, or games that changes the devs on top of it. And sadly that is indeed true most of the time. Very rare for a troubled game under such complicated condition end up in a positive light.

The right ones, at that. The ones who wouldn't waste the opportunity and richness of the world, its flavor, and its potential. A VtM game by Larian would be a massive win for everyone. We've already seen how capable they are with converting a much-beloved tabletop game into a successfully revolutionary video game that respects both the lore and the players' creative freedom and agency while delivering the highest quality of genuine experience.

I think Bloodlines 2 is just taking more precautions, remember, I am not under NDA, I am not trying to produce and sell a AAA product, I have nothing to loose so I have nothing to hide. I am encouraging to not hate on Bloodlines 2... See they are becoming more cautious about what they show simply cause everything they post is received badly, this means they cannot get a full an honest opinion on their progress. This is a vicious circle that leads to them being ever more shy, and this only serves to widen the gap between their product and public demand. My advice, forget it's a sequel to bloodlines and judge it for what it is as a standalone game, and not try giving it a middle finger for it's title. As a dev to another dev (even if they're AAA and way bigger than me) I encourage BL2 team to keep on trudging forward.

Really impressive, guys! And Skyrim engine is really fitting to this kinda game. From what I could gather from the footage you would really benefit from goth fashion artist in a team as clothes and overall goth design elements is big part of Masquerade's style and charm. I am so freaking excited for this project. While I would love a 1-for-1 remake of Redemption, the issues with Activision are very understandable and I almost wonder how much further you could push things if y'all wound up making your own original VtM story. And please count me as a +1 for demand in regards to a SkyUI reskin.

Amazing, but don't you think the Stamina stat is useless for its purpose? Vampire pretty much immune for exhausting if we speaking about usual physical activity (sprint, jumping, lifitng).

Definitely not. From both a game balance perspective, ttrpg perspective, and as a remake; Stamina should be included. The character sheet has stamina as one of the attributes, as does the characters in the original game. I definitely see your point, and in another universe, this would be true.

Complicated subject, On one hand you are absolutely correct lore-wise as to what we have stamina in the game, on the other Skyrim's combat even after heavy modding and fixes is still reliant on stamina mechanics. No stamina would mean no special attacks, Infinite stamina would make melee OP. So it's a delicate balance.

@derrekingledue3138 i see your point, but i'm not talking about Stamina as dot-based attribute (that provides passive damage reduction both in ttrpg and in VTMB), but about expendable Skyrim Stamina that depleting in spint, strikes and similar physical actions. Lorewise, vampires don't feel any physical exhaustion during a night or if their Humanity is not on at the top of the scale. Balancewise, however, it's maybe not elegant, but pretty reasonable game design choice.

@@powerlichina3924 the ttrpg does effect endurance. At a single dot level, stamina reads "Even lesser exertions make you winded." Before you saythat the descriptions are generic, the latter one references not being mortal. Even athletics, for one of its specialties, has "endurance" listed. If vampires were immune to exhaustion in a physical activity, they wouldn't list it here.

Yeah Bloodlines was really cool and fun but Redemption just understood the TONE of Vampire perfectly.

VTMR also explored the lore more than VTMB in different ways, that without counting it also has the Dark Ages: Vampire setting, too and it recounts historic VTM events, too. VTMR just has all the key VTM elements that makes it what it is. If VTMR would've had a different gameplay than point&click, it could have been remembered more.

This is so amazing I came across this watching old videos of Bloodlines the original. This is a true sequel. In my opinion this is how bloodlines 2 should have been. Now all we see is just new shiny graphics and videos but this has that real nostalgic effect with today's technology. As a Programmer by profession and a fan of the game this is amazing thank you

I'm a longtime fan of Redemption, Bloodlines, and the VTM setting. I'm only a novice VA, but this is making me that much more determined to go forward with it. I wish I was better skilled in level design and Blender to help your team. I have so much respect for your transparency, even when it must be incredibly fraught and stressful - yet you still stepped forward to let us, the audience, know exactly what's going on, for good or ill. I'm also impressed that you integrated the Dark Ages content so well. As much as I would love to run around in this with my own Kindred, but our dear Christof will do well enough 🦇 Seriously, mad respect and I will continue to keep watch on it's progress.

Regarding 5:12. I'll be honest - Plans C and D are extremely appealing, and I wouldn't even mind them being higher up in the list. Genuinely passionate and dedicated fans and creators doing what they do because they intrinsically love it always produces an experience entirely worth having. I recognize it would effectively set you back to Stage 0, but after seeing the work and love you've put in - it's perfectly clear to me that you have the passion, skill, and patience to create something incredible. A new game/simulator would also garner greater potential exposure in the VtM/WoD community than a mod likely would, which means more people getting to enjoy your shared creation. As has always been, the choice is completely yours - I don't intend for this to feel like a form of pressure. I'm just letting you know that if you want to expand your vision and explore outside your previous boundaries - the support for that is here. Don't be afraid to dream even bigger than you already have, my friend. Everything's possible. Especially in the coming days. Much love to you and everyone involved in the project and community.
