Look at 0:58 - He just can't believe how poignant is this song which he plays right after the New York Twin Towers collapse... "An endless turning stairway climbs To a tower of souls If it takes another thousand years, a thousand wars, The towers rise to numberless floors in space" His voice is filled with pain, he hardly can sing for a moment after that

Just rewatching this show, how achingly beautiful and tragic that was and it still feels so special and there's so much grief underneath. Thank God they decided to carry on with the concert. It's so true, it gives hope. Incredibly insanely talented musicians THE WHOLE BAND, REALLY. Love and peace, as old-school and absurd as this claim sounds like:. Watch the entire Tuscany concert before you say the man's voice is tired.He chose to perform this way.Even nowadays Sting's voice is a wonder and cannot be touched by much younger performers.

This exclusive private concert was recorded the evening of 9/11/2001. Sting was still in shock after the twin towers tragedy. He had cried and was very sad and distraught that day, but his crew insisted he sung anyway to fight the bad feelings. I suppose that's why his voice seems tired.
