I'm glad the regrets are few. I find it amazing how you've both made such a small space so warm and elegantly simple. I like the idea of the 'ritual' of converting the bed each day! Part of me wants to move to a shikibuton on tatami ... . From your comments about the window covers, I see you are a fellow perfectionist! 😅

Me too 😊 Yes, it’s kind of cosy! I see the appeal in the Japanese bedding, and it’s aesthetic too! Haha, yes…. 🤣

What a great job you did, building your livaboard van, Saga! I’ve followed several Van lifers and, really, none of the vans were built as well and as aesthetically pleasing as yours! Congratulations on a job really well done. Wishing you lots of Happy Days!!

Your "Sustains" in this After Action Review video of yours (yes, I am prior U.S. Army - a war veteran) - what you like and would do again - are excellent, Saga!

My wife had one of your videos pop up in her recommendations, and I'm so glad she did! I've subscribed and will be watching your content over the coming days. When we were younger, we took many trips in a minivan that I made into a camper; much simpler than yours since we were not living in it permanently. Your van tour brought back lots of good memories. Having everything you need, but little beyond that, is so satisfying. We are much older now, but keeping things simple is still important to us (maybe it's our Swedish ancestry!) I recently bought a small, 50-year old camper/trailer, and am looking forward to completely gutting it and making it our own. When these campers were made, I don't think anyone thought about them still rolling on the roads after 50 years; or even ten, judging by the inside of the walls. Everything seems to be glued in place, and I know that I'll be going through what you did to get rid of it all. I try to make everything reversible whenever I DIY anything because I often think of improvements after completing a project. You stress simplicity, and I'm glad. Watching the few videos I have so far tells me that you're going to really help me as I move forward. 'Enough is enough' is a good way to live. Thanks for what you do each week!

Wow what a compliment. Thank you so much! I’m glad you found my video helpful, and I’m so excited to hear about your project going forward! Restoring things that weren’t necessarily made to still keep going is so satisfying. And I love to hear that your trying to do it sustainably and DIY! Removing the glue took hours! But with a heat gun, glue remover spray and alcohol to clean the last remnants it finally worked!

I have been watching videos from van build for a long time, but the simplicity and design of yours for me it's the best. It's clean, and seems yo be cozy. Nice job for both of you!

Just discovered your channel and I love it. This may be a too personal question but I wondered if you both have tips and tricks which stop you getting on each other's nerves in a very confined space. I suspect an agreed routine helps😊

Thank you so much! Yes, we have a routine and the hardest thing is sticking to it to be honest, because sometimes even my husbands presence gets me distracted! But we do our best and other things like going for walks alone, and using head phones helps!

Thank you Saga I have liked and subscribed - I think you should be very proud of your van and the freedom it gives you. Do you drive on the left in New Zealand like England?. ☀☀

Thank you so much! :) Yes, we drive on the left, which was a bit difficult at first with a manual :D

Hej ! Såg en annan video där du ville ha ett annat ord för ”please” på svenska . Du använde ordet snälla , men nåt vi använder är ”är du snäll ”.Ex : Kan du tanka bilen ,är du snäll ?”😂

You're actually probably better off without a turbo engine. Turbochargers force your engine to work harder than it wants to, and that can overstress the engine and shorten its life.
