@@forayconcept3389 Just don't use music in the videos at all. Background music is a bad idea, it only makes video worse. Music works if you make b-roll material and put the music on top of that and no talk at that time. When you start speaking, stop the music. Simple test: Ask yourself is this the song you would like to hear yourself continuously for 24 minutes repeating itself 20 times? If you think that would be torture, don't offer it to other viewers. Just rendering again this video without music you would propably get 5 times more people watching the video from start to finnish. I had to watch this with no sound after couple of minutes.

I noticed that your set-up put all the heavy stuffs on the driver side, include you when driving
@forayconcept3389 Жыл бұрын
It's true, the weight of the interior is biased toward the driver side but we feel the weight of the awning on the upper passenger side does offer a counterbalance to that. Also, the weight capacity of the van vs. the actual weight of what we put into it is still in our favor. When possible we try to balance out the weight but this build didn't allow us to unfortunately. Thanks for the comment and definitely something to be mindful of!

What did u do with the original van panels? I don't want to just throw them away
@forayconcept33893 жыл бұрын
In this case, most if not all the original panels were retained but I keep any around to use for other builds/parts to give it that OEM look. For instance, repurposed the rear vent for the AC system to trim out the heat duct that comes out under the passenger seat. Other than that, you can try to sell online but it might take awhile to find the right buyer.

I have used airbag simulators to replace the side air bags. They plug into airbag plugs and the system sees them as valid airbag. Remainder of system fully operational. My opinion is that side airbag deployment will destroy all the cabinets and be dangerous to occupants. Love the build man. You gave me some great ideas. Thanks
@randymears13783 жыл бұрын
I understand that you left room for airbag to deploy so it might be just fine airbags make me nervous. You obvious gave some thought to what you were doings so just ignore my comment. I have a van just like this one and I will be replacing my airbags with the simulator plug.
@forayconcept33893 жыл бұрын
I hear you and considered the modification but as this is for a customer, I didn't want to take on the liability of the modified airbag system NOT deploying in the case of an accident. So, made the adjustment in the design to allow for the curtain airbags to deploy. Thanks for the comments!

Do you have any details on how you got the awning to fit?

It was a combination of C channel mounted to the factory mounting location, customized 4" straps to move the Fiamma Sprinter brackets out to the edge of the van and a modified 3x3 1/4" angle aluminum to support the awning out at the front tip. Was quite the trial and error to finally get it all sorted out but the end product was worth it and dialed in.

Awesome job!! Love most everything you did on this build. I have the same van and size and you don't see the 130"s very often. Nice job. Curious about the flarespace replacing the two back windows. Love that idea... was that done in house or did you need a professional window shop to remove the factory windows? Does the flarespace go in relatively easy once the window is out? Would love some insight on that. Thanks for your vid. Inspiring stuff.
@forayconcept33892 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comments! The flares are a bit tricky as you have to cut out the existing windows if passenger van or metal for the cargo van. Then the flares need to be painted as they come in a primer gray color from Flarespace. Installation is best with 2 people and isn't too difficult, just need the right tools and space to do it. Our shop in Eugene, OR is set up for it so let us know if you need assistance! Thanks again for the comments and for watching!!

Some Conversion builders recommend not buying a crew or passenger vans due to the side curtain airbags; others do. What is your opinion on this matter? Please feel free to expound upon....
@forayconcept33892 жыл бұрын
Pros and cons to both. Having the factory interior solves many challenges in putting a build together but they also take up some valuable volume and the issue of side curtain airbags prevents any upper cabinet from being included. Having done both, it just depends on the client and what they are needing from the build.
