Van Camping and Cooking by the River in Mt. Hood National Forest

We got an early start to the week to beat the Labor Day rush in the Mt. Hood National Forest in Oregon. We altered our original plan once we found the perfect spot right next to a branch of the Clackamas River.

Thank you! We really want to go back to this spot but this was one of the areas that was closed down after the fires, and we have a suspicion that this dispersed site might have been destroyed. :(

Water was VERY cold. But the outside temperature was in the mid 70's.

where exactly did you guys park overnight? we have a subaru outback and would love to park where next to the river like this

That spot unfortunately likely burned in the fires last year. Roads are still closed in that area. Sad.
