If your going to rip boards down anyways just use a 2x4 you get 3 pieces with every board it’ll save money in the long run. And also use cardboard for your template it’s way easier measure twice cut once other than that great build.

Why didn't you glue the wood strips to the floor? Even Loctite PL Max adhesive would have been good. Next van ;)

You should’ve made a template with cardboard and used liquid nail instead of screwing in to the floor. ✌🏼

I have a more recent episode on the subfloor install here kzbin.info/www/bejne/moq4pHmGq8p9g9U it is just floating until later in the build when I screw things into the walls and floors then it is completely locked in place, but it's also locked in place because of the shape it can't really move. How did u kept the wooden beems on the floor did u screw them or used gum

They are loose until they screw into the plywood. The foam board keeps them tight in place until then. The plywood is scribed in a way that it can’t move in any direction but down the line there will be things screwed into the floor and also screwed into the studs on the way. Which would make everything locked into place. Like the bench seats, base cabinets, boxes around the wheel Wells etc.

On your sub floor screwing them down what size screws do I need and how much I need about to start my sub floor thanks

I’m using 1 inch cross beams and 3/4 inch plywood so 1 5/8 inch screws work well.

@@mariovenegas8468 one box should do it. Just wood screws. You aren’t screwing through any metal. You don’t want to go into the vans metal floor

Are those 2x2's held in by pressure only? Or are they loose until you put on your top plywood pieces?

Great video Do u use primer for your bottom strips ? As u use foam boards and plywood goes over it ? does it matter on your preference for sub floor I was wondering going 3/4 plywood? Thanks

How thick is the upper plywood sheet of the subfloor? And did you glue down the furring strips?

It’s 3/4 and no it’s not necessary to glue down the furring strips. I have a more recent video on this too

Travels with the Kings no I didn’t. Once you have the 5/8th plywood plus everything else on top there is a lot of weight it’s not necessary. It really can’t move in any direction bc of the way the plywood is scribed.

Hey bro, soo....I got 3 4x8 half inch birch l Plywood....and then I realized evdtuome I follow doesn't have a extended promaster.....and so cause I have a ft more I need to buy a another plywood...but not only that my cuts sucks and it's not even kind of perfect ...and it was a very stressful day everyone makes it look easy.... but I was at it for HOURS and I only cut one peice people be saying oh I have zero experience with woodworking or power tools and somehow makes some phenomenal van conversion. ....like what do I just suck? 😅😂😂😂😂😭😭😭😭
