The thing that could be said about JCVD is that he really shows physical action. His movies are inspired a lot by 80s-90s fitness VHS tapes. Seagal meanwhile does nothing and expects people to believe the things he does are physically possible. He's always covered in loose fitting shirts to cover his obesity. Also, at a party(?) where they attended together, Seagal mentioned to someone that he could "kick the shit out" of JCVD. Word got to JCVD and he went to search for Seagal. Seagal bailed out of the party.

I commend Seagal for using a stunt double to walk and talk on the phone at the same time, it's more dangerous than people realize. Saw that The Quest was released in 1996. Seagal was in Executive Decision that year. That movie had the nerve NOT to cast Seagal as the main character AND it killed his character off 40 minutes in! And it was Seagal's highest grossing film since Under Siege! Too bad Steven didn't get the hint and went full diva!

In defense of James Remar's boxer character; the movie takes place in the early 20th century I think and back then people looked older at younger ages as life was more rough. Also Remar would have been at most 43 years old since the movie came out in 1996 and Remar was born in late December 1953. The Quest was released in the spring of 1996. We may assume that Remar's scenes were shot some time in 1995 most likely before his birthday, which would be on the New Year's Eve. So Remar turned 43 in late 1996 after the movie was released and if his scenes were shot in 1995 he was almost certainly only 41 during the time of filming unless his scenes were shot on the last day of 1995 when he turned 42.
