Van Gogh oil pastels ?

It would seem to be a perfect oil pastel combination would be: Van Gogh for the first layer, then Mungyo, then Rembrandt/Haiya, and topped off with Sennelier. (If needed, maybe use Sakura or Pentel as the base layer, followed by Van Gogh, Mungyo, Haiya and, finally, Sennelier for the top note?)

Sure, many brands available and there by several combinations possible. I just want to be able to buy single sticks, open stock. And some brands are harder to get to like the chinese brands ☺️ Thanks for watching. Cheers

I have these pastels... I find them very dry and hard. It is very difficult to work with them to make layers and to blend them. I use them for underpaintings and for the first layer/sketch of my drawing and then work with softer pastels.
