Hang ‘em High is like I’m the one. Didn’t get a lot of radio play but VH fans know the gems. These two songs are very difficult to play, they both have a lot of Eddie’s tricks. Damn I miss him. Long Live the Mighty Van Halen. EVH forever in our hearts. 🎸🤘🏽

Excellent work! You have the fingering almost correct and the picking directions are correct and you are playing pretty comfortably at the 260 bpm-264 bpm on the record. VERY well done! From seeing all the available footage, I’m certain that Eddie did use the open A string for the main riff rather than fretting the A note at the 5th fret of the 6th string. But absolutely very well done.

I looked for the most awesome EVH track , this was it , I can do the riff , that's all I wanted , but it was not easy for me . Just like Vai , it's so difficult to follow the masters that we follow , my point is break through , if we can play that impossible solo , we can go forward and play anything . I don't want to take anything away from 5150 tsuyoshi's awesome playing here, but I think Eddie might have been doing economy picking on that fast intro and was not doing alternate picking. Have a look at the YT video "Van Halen Boston 3/11/12 Hang em high" -- you can see his picking hand very relaxed just repeating an up/down motion. When double notes are needed on the 6th string it's up-down and when double notes are needed on the 4th string it's down-up -- it's not a light economy picking thing - it's a very strong and minute movement on the double notes. I could of course be wrong, but damn if eddy doesn't make it look completely effortless even though it's incredibly fast picking.
