Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman) has to kill Count Dracula (Richard Roxburgh) in order to stop his children from living. As the clock signals midnight, Van Helsing transforms into a werewolf and attacks Dracula.

What Van Helsing did great was depicting the transformation into a werewolf. Other films waste time making the werewolf itself look cool, but I think the transformation here looked really realistic and extremely painful. That's the beauty of it. It must be painful for someone to transform, and the animators made it look like it was.

This is a Werewolf. And this is a Vampire. Albeit it's Dracula but still. I've seen alot of movies with Werewolves and Vampires including this one. This is by far the best, no doubt. If future movies don't have Werewolves and Vampires like this, I ain't watching. I've seen enough Teen wolf, Vampire Diaries, True Blood, Twilight etc where the Werewolves are so inferior and the Vampires are just well, not like this. Werewolves are actual threats to Vampires, so enough of a threat they scare them. And the Vampires should be like Dracula in this movie. Full Breed Werewolves and Full Blooded Vampires. Both like 15 ft each and fighting like it's Noones business. This movie is old but it's my favorite portrayal of Werewolves and Vampires. All the others are pretty trash. Bring shit like this back.

. . . .and that, at the beginning of the film, was a Hyde. . . . .This movie needs a sequel. It's like a Broadway play on cocaine and steroids. I never understood by it didn't get one. The producers could of used their imaginations. For example, they could have written an origin story about Helsing and Dracula during the middle ages and they became whatever or they could have brought Helising to the states to fight some Edgar Allan poe shit or some monsters from American folklore. Or, they could have developed a story arch having to do with Dante's inferno. I could go on. . . . . .

WoW! I love how I'm 1 of many who adore this movie? I don't care about whatever negative reviews the movie critics gave it because "Van Helsing" will always be my idea of the perfect modern love ode to all the great B&W horror legendary monsters. Hugh Jackman is the most sexiest Van Helsing/werewolf in the history of monster movies, IMO.I also think Velken and Dracula are handsome, Anna and Dracula's brides/baby mommas are all pretty. Whenever I watch this movie and see all of Dracula's brats, I think to myself "Self.....those babies need diapers and bibs, because children are so messy!!!"😂
