Van Horn, Texas, gearing up for international fame with Blue Origin launch

The tiny town of Van Horn, Texas, is preparing for an influx of people and international attention ahead of Jeff Bezos' launch to space. Blue Origin's first human flight will launch from its facility just to the north of the town. Mark Strassmann reports.

Van Horn is very remote, most people that were raise in a big city would feel uneasy there. It is over a hundred miles to the nearest town of any size. Very beautiful wide open county.

In the 1990's my family and I stopped at an Interstate Cafe in Van Horn, and was served noticeably spoiled fried chicken. I could actually smell that it was old before I took a bite of it, scary stuff! The terrain in the area of Van Horn, Texas looks like something out of western movie, rugged country, but beautiful.

I helped build some of bezos's houses out there. Stayed 2 monthes and van horn I found it quite remarkable the people were amazing
