Turquoise stands for the color of the Turks in French. French saw Iznik tiles in Sultan Ahmet Mosque and were spellbound so named the color after us. Crossants are also Turkish related. Austrians made Crescent breads to celebrate victory in 1683 and French stole idea named it Crossant (which means Crescent in French).

In Turkey we always check “winds” along with weather. As someone who lives 15 minıtes to the seashore, I take checking the winds more seriously than the weather. Because weather is never so bad in Turkey but some strong winds can give you bad headaches such as Lodos winds.
