You may consider adding a basic air filter to the draw side of those fans. Burningman is so dusty.

Just a little tid bit of helpful info... when you're done with the caulk, put a screw down in the tip. As it dries, it will grab the screw and pull out with the screw next time you use it. This saves from pushing dry caulk down into the tube like you did, eventually causing a blockage

I recommend 120mm fans because there is much more available from the pc world, some near silent or a pleasant low pitch hum at highest settings, even with heat censors that control fan speed automatically like the F12 TC by Arctic for example and cheap.
@ItsMeGiga3 ай бұрын
I'd actually recommend the Wathai 12038 120mm fan. Pc fans in general don't have enough static pressure to pull enough air to efficiently cool the electrical in that cabinet. I use 2 for my inverter/ battery compartment and control them with a DC 12V 4 Wire PWM PC CPU Fan Temperature Control Speed Controller .

@@nomadbrad503 oh and do some sort of filter in front of the intake. It won't catch all the dust but it'll substantially extend the time between cleanings/fan replacements.
@jonspoonamore37213 ай бұрын
Nice deal. Does that system have a Temperature Alarm if it gets too hot? Also... Since you are going to the desert, have you thought about an air-positive system to help keep dust out while traveling? I've seen a lot of off-road RV people create an air-system to pull-in filtered air that will create increased air-pressure in the RV. This makes it impossible for dust to enter the RV.

They make some fans like that that have temperature sensors so they don't constantly run. My buddy uses them for his AV cabinets and they work really well at keeping his amps and stuff cool in closed cabinets. Worth looking into if you find that manually turning your fans off and on is a pain. edit: That gray IS300 at the end is sweet, I've owned two IS300's they're such fun little sports cars.

Brad great video, quick question how do you insure a conversion box truck?
@BTNomad3 ай бұрын
It took me a while to find coverage for mine. I ended up with State Farm. Due to the size of my truck, over 10,000 lbs, it's insured as Commercial for Private use. I bought a cheap renters policy to cover my personal items and all of the electronics, plumbing, etc., I have in here.
