Charl is a full time Van Dweller who lives in his 1978 westfalia. He travelled from Quebec to Victoria Canada to seek warmer weather to get through the canadian winter. He is currently working on a documentary about van life, as he believes that it is part of a social and ecological movement that is happening.

What a great ambassador for the van life movement. My goals in life used to be what society demanded, 40+ hour a week job, a house with bills using up most of my money. Once I actually had time off I'd be so tired I'd just sit at home and do nothing. Eventually the stress and physical demands got to me and here I am, chronic back pain, two hernia's, severe depression, anxiety. I'm currently unemployed, thinking about a future that I worked over a decade to get close to, yet never reached. I'm now studying to be a web developer and I hope to buy a van, convert it, and become a digital nomad of sorts. I live in Australia so the travel opportunities are endless, or I can stay close to family and just save money to travel overseas. Channels like this and people like Charl show me that life isn't just about money and a house, it's about experiencing what the world has to offer.

Everyone knows VW buses, camper vans are cool! But they are also known for breaking down a lot. Since this van lifer is living full time in his older VW camper van, it would have been nice to gain some insight with any problems he's had with his van.
