Great method. Make less mass by using a hot knife for only about $25.

That works but the odor is bad. Can you tell I gave this a try 😀

Did you ever go back and fill the gap between the 1" XPS and the walls of the van? If so, what fill material did you end up using?

XPS is only used on the floor. The walls are insulated with polyisocyanurate insulation and polyester sheets as seen in this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqvPl4R4hLiYmLs

@Frugal Factor : I understand that. But in your video, when installing the XPS on the floor, you say to not run the XPS all the way to the walls, since the XPS would squeak as it rubbed against the walls as you drive down the highway. In your video, you said that you had not yet decided whether or not to fill this gap with something, perhaps a sealant. My question was whether or not you filled the gap you left between the XPS and the walls.

@@seattleboatguy Sorry, I did not understand the question the first time. YES, I went back and filled the gap with clear Lexel sealant. Took many tubes, may not have been 100% filled but enough to ensure it maintained the gap so there would not be any squeaking. It worked 😁

Would it be much better to cut the bottom of this plastic cover and glue the xps? Just an idea.

Not sure what you mean. No glue - I want to be able to back up and remove everything if needed. If there is some type of problem, or modification I want to make in the future I want easy access.

@@FrugalFactor He meant cutting the bottom part of that black plastic cover so that only the top comes off. Then you can glue the insolation and still get to the electrical box.

Did you have to add cardboard to the left and right side of the wheel well? I used a round plastic lid with a pencil sticking thru the middle and I always ended up with gaps on the left and right wheel well sides. Very detailed content, thank you for sharing. Subscribed.

No, I did not add any to the wheel well. I added to get to the centerline. The best thing is that the "Garage" area is a perfect mirror image!
