I am so glad you got to experience this boat ride into Florida. I am a native Floridian who has been living in Idaho for 30 years, in the process off settling up a Florida base to retire. People think Disney when they think Florida. You got to see some of the REAL Florida. Once you have spent your year traveling North America, you will understand why many "Americans " never travel elsewhere. I have traveled Internationally quite a bit, but there is much to see and love in the US. I hope you love your time here.

Hey Diane - yes we loved our short time in Florida and wanted to try and see the REAL Florida rather than just theme parks. As we drive we are realising how big the US is and each state is like going to another country

A long time ago we took my mum and dad on holiday to Florida, on a trip to the Kennedy space centre my mum spotted an Alligator near the road as we passed by on the bus from the car park to the launch areas. She asked where it had escaped from, the drivers reaction was “no mam, it lives here” she was reluctant to get off the bus after that.

Hey Charlie - yes it's so true- we say alligators everywhere - literally every pond there's a couple of eyes looking !

Turtles and Alligators are often found together. I have even seen them basking on top of each other. Never underestimate the power of friendship. I love that you are now in my back yard. Enjoy your time in america, Love you both
@TREADtheglobe2 жыл бұрын
hi Andrea - thanks the the info - I really thought that turtle was asking for trouble being so close - Do alligators not eat the turtles ??
@andreahogan98832 жыл бұрын
@@TREADtheglobe Not usually, growing up we had an alligator and a turtle in our pond, funny enough they would play tug of war for a fish carcass, but the alligator normally let the turtle eat the fish and then it would eat anything left over. Once I even saw the gator accidentally get the turtles eat in it's mouth but immediately let go since he knew the turtle was not his food. I personally feel alligators deserve respect, but not fear. They are not typically aggressive, breeding season, or if they have a nest near by I wouldn't go around them or in the water, but the rest of the time they avoid you as much as possible. I love your enthusiasm, never change.. Have a wonderful adventure!

I remember seeing a manatee for the first time. They are much bigger than I imagined. Florida really is a magical place to visit. You have to visit the SeaWorld. Yes I know it's a tourist spot but it really is amazing and don't miss the section where you can see polar bears and beluga wales swimming under water right next to the glass. I know so many people that walk right past that section, never realising it's there.

We have been watching you since almost the beginning and all of Turkey where I have a trip planned in a few months that you greatly contributed to. It was so much fun watching you guys in NY and S. Carolina and now Florida. We been to many parks in FL and Blue Springs several times. We have canoed past and swam near many gators. They really tend to be afraid of big humans. You got to see some good wildlife on a beautiful day. We're very happy for you. Welcome to the US and in particular the beautiful South. 😍

To see footage of an alligator lifting itself off its belly and running on all fours is intimidating enough -- wouldn't want to see that in real life!!! 😱😱😱 Those folks on paddle boards are more than a bit mad in my humble opinion! I've also seen video where they take the boat out at night and shine a flood light onto the shore, and all the gators' eyes looking back shine out of the darkness. 😬😬😬 Truly horrifyingly fascinating prehistoric creatures, they are! So glad you got to tick them off your list! ❤️❤️😎👍xx

If/when you come to Canada, I would love to give you some tips of places to visit. British Columbia is stunningly beautiful. We have everything from desert to temperate rain forest, large urban centers, remote mountain camping experiences (we frequently see black bears-have had a couple wander through our campsite), beautiful, welcoming small towns. Actually, every province in Canada has something unique and wonderful to offer. The wildlife we’ve experienced 20-25 minutes from our home has been epic. Black bears, grizzly bears, the most stunning huge black wolf, moose, elk, deer and so many other animals/birds/aquatic life. I’d happily share must see places with you. We camp all the time from mid-April to the beginning of November (depending on how much snow there is. I’ve only just discovered your channel and subscribed because I’m enjoying your sense of fun and admire your sense of adventure. It will be the last trip Trudy makes. Better to go up over the Top of The World highway and into the Yukon in Canada and back out to the US. Please don’t try to drive the Haul road to Prudhoe Bay.
