As a 70-yo full-time caregiver, van life isn’t a possibility at this point in time. But I think about it a lot in the event it would be possible “someday.” Seeing this build, the order, simplicity, and restfulness of what Lindsay has achieved here brought mist to my eyes and somewhat took my breath away at one point. I saved this video in my recently-created Van Conversion Ideas playlist. Thanks much for such a well-done video, and to Lindsay for sharing so well and “hospitably.” I subscribed today!

People are always thanking Vets for their service. Who of course are important. Yet To me nurses are the most important people in our society. They help everyone when they are at their weakest. They work long hours,handle the grossest things, deal with death and illness all while working to help people heal and do it with limitless compassion. I could tell what this girl did by her personality 3 sentences into your interview . I thank God for humans like her

Very very cleaver use of space. I see so many people who just throw a giant bed in the back and that bed takes up like 80% of the space. It's also really genius to have easy access to all the guts of the van. Many people hide that away and seem to forget that some day you might need to repair or replace stuff. This is definitely one of the top 3 best vans ive seen so far.

The vast majority of RVs are not built for living in. They don't have the durability, nor do they have all of the necessities for living fulltime. They are built for a vacation once a year in pleasant locations with vacation weather.
@peterm.eggers5204 жыл бұрын
@@gerrynightingale9045 Airstream is at the high end of RVs and 2 weeks is not considered "living in". Antifreeze in the grey water tank makes it a blackwater dump. Having to put anti-freeze in either tank is just one of the many hassles trying to actually live-in an RV. Forced air gas furnace (typically propane, ideally using fuel from the tank) tends to be used at very high rates due to lack of real insulation and design in RVs. OK for vacations, expensive and causing other problems as you found out. When you live year-round in an RV, you will understand why people do custom builds.

My one issue is; I need a wet bath. It's important to me to not depend on finding gym or shower facilities. Also I'd want small pump for sink to avoid foot pump. I love how knowledgeable she is when it comes to her conversion and her understanding of all the systems involved....especially the electrical components. She could easily tackle any issues that arise as well as help others she meets on her new life journey.

As for the electrical, would that inverter put out too much heat within the enclosed space? Dunno about lithium ion batteries not tolerating too much heat like the normal automotive batteries...

This was outstanding. I appreciate how much support she got from the family. I guess as a nurse she can work anywhere she wants to. She thought of everything.

One of the best thought out builds I’ve seen thus far! And I’ve seen a LOT of van builds at several RTR’s. Though way beyond my expertise! Thank you for sharing!

Interesting juxtaposition. I'm a retired Power Engineer who ran Hospital power plants and you're a nurse who has schooled me with your genius build. Many hands make light work. I'd make sure that inverter has good ventilation, especially being close to the batteries, but the shut off switch and CO monitor as well as many other features are well conceived. Definitely one of the best builds I've seen in many respects. Very clean.

If you're going to stay in northern climates, you may want to look into diesel parking heaters, they are very efficient and create a safe dry heat.
