Not sure if you guys fully realize it, but you make others able to experience what they couldn't otherwise. I don't know if I'll ever be lucky enough to visit Lake Louise, or most of the beautiful places you see, but thanks to you I do get to have at least a glimpse of what it would feel to be there. 2 years late but gonna comment anyways.... some of my fondest memories growing up were driving as a family of 5 in my dad's semi truck from Pennsylvania to British Columbia Canada. We did it quite a few times and we would drive through Banff and Jasper Parks and the scenery was always so incredible. Probably the most beautiful place I've ever been- Alaska being a close second. This video made me re- live some of those memories again. I still remember the beauty of Lake Louis. We have a picture framed at home that the reflection is so clear that you literally can turn the picture upside down and can't tell the difference. Thank you Kara and Nate for helping me relive parts of my childhood

Canadian Rockies got to be one of the most beautiful mountains in the world! Aesthetically they are perfection, it is the closest thing I've seen to Dolomites, but it's like Dolomites on steroids, reddish limestone, amazing forest, so many lakes and streams.
@russellewis33316 жыл бұрын
Jasper Alberta north of Banff has blue, grey, black, folded, layered but tilted mountains, many different types. Since the Rockies are such young mountains they are still sharp and angular and with cold temperatures accumulate lots of snow. The rest of Alberta ranges from mountain to prairie, boreal forest (millions of miles) to desert hoodoos filled with dinosaurs. There is even a place where desert Sand dunes are overtaking a forest and in winter you can lay in sand at -35c beside 2feet of snow!

Oh I love you guys so much I really hope I get to meet you guys one day I live in BC and I drive on that highway all the time to go to tournaments and stuff and it’s so funny because they’re so surprised about all the snow meanwhile Every time you want to go to a cabin or a tournament we have to drive through that and I guess I didn’t really think about how grateful we are for having snow because some people don’t get to see that every day:)
@richaelcampbell54924 жыл бұрын
I know this video is old but I hope you guys get to see this if you ever come back to BC literally every mountain in BC says avalanche warning even in the summer it’s just because we have lots of steep mountains whatever trail that was you could’ve probably done it a fact about one of the highways in BC I’m pretty sure of the cocahalla a mountain fell and killed people and they had to start a new highway around it and if you drove by it you wouldn’t even notice because it’s all trees and rocks

There are several more amazingly blue lakes in the Jasper/Banff area. One I visited back in '84 on my return solo drive from Alaska was Peyto (PEA-toe) Lake. Regarding the bear problem, if you talk loudly, and/or make noise, you're usually going to be safe from even seeing one, let alone getting attacked, since they don't like running into us, either. Regarding the necessity for the tea house staff to backpack in all of the food, as you may know already, at Grand Canyon, it's brought in by mule train, and down the river about 50 miles at Havasu (HAH-vah-sue) Canyon, it comes in by horse. To clarify for viewers, the bridges at around 12:15 are for animals in that they can walk over the top, rather than getting creamed by trying to cross the highway. Take note of the trees on the overpass.
