I remember in Texas I broke down 50 miles to the closest AutoZone and had to drive my van 10 mph to the AutoZone. I felt so hopeless, I didn't have the money to buy the tool and part I needed, but the couple behind bought it for me. I didn't even make eye contact with them, as I left the store and went outside and just cried didn't know what to do, they came out and bought me the things I needed and they offered to buy me something to eat. I was so overwhelmed with emotion of thankfulness and couldn't control my crying. They also got me a room for the night.

Mateo, just be careful when visiting remote places like the desert unless you prepare a plan b for breakdowns being single. Glad it all worked out just note tires in the best condition can pose a risk so if your mind tells you they are iffy place it safe plus make sure oil and engine fluid is checked every 3500 with a older vehicle. O.M.G. THIS EXACT THING HAPPENED TO ME. I was in the middle of Navajo Nation. My tire was leaking where i could only drive 60 miles on it. The closest tire shop was 150 miles. When i showed up it just closed and when it ipened in the morning the guys were not coming in because It was a holiday weekend so NO tire shops were open. I had to drive 265 mile out of my way to Grand Junction Colorado. There thankfully was a Discount Tire, where i bought my tires from, under warranty. They "fixed" tge leak. Went to get gas and my tire becaume flat again. So went back. The tire was faulty. They did not have my tire in stock ir similar, same size. I was going to have to wait there for three days. The manager ended up giving me 4 new tires, size larger FOR FREE. People are so helpful. I have been showed so much kindness by so many strangers on my journeys.❤ ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I have to admit after just having the other van trouble I was surprised to see you driving around the way you were off road in the last video. I don’t have those guts because all I would think is a tire blow or car breaking down and getting stranded. Yes AAA has a premium package that will tow up to 500 miles. However, they will not cover you even a lock out if you are off the main road. So keep hat in mind with BLM land. Be safe and at least you already have everything with since you live in your vehicle and it didn’t result in an accident and you had that spare tire!

Always check with your insurance carrier. Oftentimes, for just a few dollars, you can add towing or roadside assistance that AAA won't cover.

I think AAA has a premium membership that costs a little more and will tow you further. Sometimes, you can call the tow trucks in that area wherever you are and the individual owners will come get you.

5 things you always have in your van Spare Tools and jack. Patch kit and fix a flat Air inflation device Extra lugnuts. That's just for this situation.. don't forget extra fan belt, hose repair tape. And fuses.

I know this is a super late comment but just thought I’d share a helpful hint for the future if you only have one jack. Sometimes when the tire blows out the car is sitting so low by that tire that the jack can’t get under it. If that happens, just use the jack to remove the good tire on the same side of the car. Then take that tire and slide it under the frame close to midway of the car. It will boost up the car by the flat tire so you can get your jack under it. Also, even if you can jack up the bad tire like you did here, always slide that bad tire under the car beside the jack. Jacks fail but the rim will hold it up or catch it if the jack fails. Especially when using emergency jacks. Just a safety tip.

As far as next direction, maybe think about going to Quartzsite for the RTR? Snow is pretty close by in Flagstaff, if you like snow. There's good dispersed camping in that area.

Hi Mateo, I'm sorry that you were stranded well temporarily 🙏🏿 I have had AAA for over 30 years and the plan I have is AAA plus which inludes 100 miles of towing, because I always plan for the worst case scenario. Also most car insurance includes towing as well. The AAA coverage you selected was for local driving not sufficient for van life travel.

Hey get Good Sam it's much better than AAA and they pretty much get you from anywhere and they're designed for RVs and cars. And they're cheaper too! Get the plan where they'll tow you a hundred miles to anywhere you want.

Idaho is creepy and stinky af. Check out Nevada, it’s an alien state~Dyke hot springs, spencer hot springs. AZ, Grand Canyon. New Mexico, Jemez mountains, Gila forest, Taos. Driving non 4x4 cars fast in a desert road def not best idea. I have a van not 4x4 and am careful for that reason.
