I laughed SO hard when you just tossed the cutout for your sink, immediately followed by Akela imitating you by shoving the ball on the floor! OMG, that was PRICELESS! From that point on, it was VERY clear that Akela has you well trained.

@@Linneaandakela Our Chiweenie does the same thing...grabs her ball from the basked, runs in and rolls it at me and then growls at me if I don't pick it up and throw soon enough for her. Hilarious. Oh, and -- as always -- enjoying your videos. I don't think I caught what fridge/freezer you were waiting on. We've been looking at adding a 12v fridge to our converted cargo trailer, but with so many choices...ugh. We're limited on power due to still being on a gel hybrid battery (just haven't made the plunge into lithium yet...still so darned expensive)

I hope you amaze yourself as much as you do us. VanLifers seem to get better with space allocation as time progresses. Chrome always advised to live in it because that’s how you’re going to figure out what you need for your lifestyle. A freezer in the garage is in my van build design. I can pull what I want and defrost in the fridge. Akela really has you trained and I think she accomplished her goal. She got your attention every time. You’re a good mum. Arizona? I’m in. Let’s go! Just loved this... ok you might not be the best carpenter in the world, :) but it just shows how much you can improve your van with very little tools and lots of determination. Akela help so much with her ball.... Laughed so much at the ball drop section :) The edge banding trick with the block to cool the glue as you pressed it in place needs highlighting you have skills :) x.

I just found your channel today and have binged watched this entire van build! (One bright side of being sick.) One thing that’s been on my mind is the top drawer next to your fridge. (Driver’s side) It’s very deep and seems like a waste of space. My thought was to build a second drawer within it to keep your silverware separate from your larger cooking utensils. Keep the beautiful drawer facia, but make it so it opens 2 drawers, and the top one be attached with a magnet or something to the facia so that it can be slid back to reveal the now hidden (currently existing) drawer under it. Nice work on the build!

Hi Linnea ! I like the way you are practical and functionality is more important than looks . ( example : wood grain going different way ,saving wood )… You say anybody can do what you do but it seems you have had a lot of experience with your father and then your brothers . Anyway , it is so cool that you can build , maintain and repair your van . I have no tools or experience . It seems overwhelming , we will have our van converted by others ..maybe do some stuff.. I mentioned a story about my white german shepherd , Wolfgang , who has passed . Akela looks just like him . I also mentioned how he loved his tennis ball . When she kept dropping her ball to play , it warmed my heart , reminded me of him . Thank you :)
@Linneaandakela3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thank you, yes I usually go the more “functional” route and I never regret it :) I actually haven’t had much experience at all with my family as far as building goes. I knew how to use a drill and that’s about it. I spent hundred of hours on KZbin learning and even more time leaving into the discomfort of trying new skills, tools, and making mistakes. I can assure you, it was VERY overwhelming for me at times! I hope you have a great time with your van conversion whatever you decide to do yourself! Lastly, thank you for sharing about Wolfgang ♥️

I agree, a girl after my own heart! I have the room in the bus I'm converting for a decent freezer and refrigerator. I plan on returning back to my home state every winter for 3 or 4 months. One wild boar will give me more meat than you could eat in one year. I plan on filling the freezer with meat and fish to last a while to eat for at least part if not all of the yearly travels.

Lovely vid! One thing to be aware of is that braided hose and jubilee clip fittings (in your under sink area) are very leak prone. It’s worth using silicone on these as well, and even using fuel clips instead of standard jubilees (jubilees can pinch the hose and create a small leak point when tightened up). I’d grab a plastic or rust-resistant metal drip tray (or make your own) for under your water containers just to catch any splashes and drips from refilling. (Lessons learned doing my own van)✌️
