Hey bud do you have experience with 12 strand braids and if so is it equivalent to hollow core as in abrasion resistant and splicing?

Yes sir have apooled probably 500,000 yds of hollow 12 strand between Jerry brown, diamond, tightline, Cortland and other cheap Chinese brands... it truly depends on the manufacturer of the braid which will determine how abrasion resistance is effected but yes the thicker 12 strands will have more abrasion resistance cause it had thicker carriers because they have less the the 16 strand has less strands per carrier but can also add to the abrasion resistance as well
