Hey, lovely and very informative video! I am considering buying exactly this model boot jump. Since it’s on the pricier side of the camping boxes, I want to make sure if fits my needs perfectly. I love that you can access the boxes below the cushions by lifting them up. Now here’s my question: can you do the same on the left side to access the stove? I could imagine that to be practical when it’s rainy and you want to cook up a quick tea inside! All the best x
@leeaundrews4 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your comment 🙂 there is no access from under the left side cushions. This is the one thing I would change for the same reason you are thinking. It may be a modification I make myself in the future, and if I do I’ll make a video about it. You can remove the stove from the shelf, and I’ve done this a few times to use inside in bad weather, but is a bit of a pain to slide the whole drawer out each time.
@Fabia9724 жыл бұрын
Awesome, I love these kind of modification videos :) I will subscribe and see what you come up with eventually 😊

Hi, great video. I plan to do a similar thing with my berlingo (12 mulrispcae model) and just wanted to ask if you add any insulation, or did you find it was warm enough just as it was? I know most minicampers do add insulation but most start off as pannel vans. Thanks in advance for your help!
@leeaundrews2 жыл бұрын
Hi 👋, I haven't added any insulation and don't find it too bad, but do wear warm clothes and use a nice warm sleeping bag. We have also got a Jackery portable battery and have just found a mini fan heater that will work with it. Once I've tested it out I may make another video to review it
@matttaylor14312 жыл бұрын
@@leeaundrews Hi, Excellent, thank you so much for the reply! Have also just been looking at the Jackery, would you reccomend one of them too? what option do you go for?
@leeaundrews2 жыл бұрын
@@matttaylor1431 the Jackery has been great for us. We have the 500w version and is more than enough for our use. Mainly used for fairy lights we use to light the van and charging phones, watches, camera batteries, laptop etc. If you want to use a kettle or heater then I would need to get the bigger version.

@leeaundrews2 жыл бұрын
Thanks 😊 we have a mini electric cool box and a larger one too. Neither of them fit very well anywhere. Tend to put them in the foot well when travelling, then move them around wherever there's space. Not the best solution but haven't been able to find an affordable small fridge. Tend to try and not take anything that needs to stay chilled - most trips are only for a night or two so doesn't cause much of a problem

Outdoor kitchens are great for that one day a year when it's not freezing, pissing down or blowing a gale.
@leeaundrews4 жыл бұрын
In a small van your options are fairly limited, although it’s never really been an issue for me. I’ve spent a lot of time out in this van and there have been surprisingly few times when the weather was that bad. When it is, I can either use the boot tent that fits over the tailgate, or take the stove out of the drawer and use it inside.

Excellent name 👍 I’m only 5’4” so plenty of room for me 🤣 but the bed does measure 6’4” so pretty roomy. This is the standard length Berlingo so the XL could have a little more room

Great video, I'm looking to get a Berlingo next year and have it converted (my DIY skills are pretty bad !!) I see yours is the newer model, these look slightly bigger ? I'm wandering if it's worth paying a bit more to get the latest shape.
@leeaundrews4 жыл бұрын
Thanks 😄 I absolutely love our Berlingo! I’ve never been inside the older model so can’t really compare but I believe the internal space is pretty much exactly the same, maybe a couple inches wider. I’ve been told the new model is nicer to drive though. I don’t think you can go wrong with whichever model you get, it’s so much fun having a micro camper 👍
@rebeccagilmore88784 жыл бұрын
Great video 👍 I'm wanting a camper myself and would be interested to know what made you go for this set up rather than a fully fitted van? It's looking like a very viable option 🤞
@leeaundrews4 жыл бұрын
Thanks 🙌😁 this is our first camper van and didn’t want to commit to a full van until we were sure we would get enough use out of it, and to figure out exactly what we do/don’t need in a camper. We mostly wild camp so also wanted something less obvious than a bigger van, but as it turns out we would be fine. When we’re on a camp site we have got a boot tent that gives you a standing area and use a tent style electric hookup. As it’s also our only vehicle, it’s been nice to have the comfort and ease to drive of a new car with all the mod cons.
@rebeccagilmore88784 жыл бұрын
@@leeaundrews Thanks Lee. Yeah a full van is a big commitment. Whatever I get will be my only vehicle too so this looks really promising and as you say it's weighing up the usage etc. Today's lockdown activity may well be perusing Berlingos! Cheers for replying 😀

Hi, Lee. I see you have the rear seats still installed and I know that is the benefit of the Amdro. I would want to take the rear seats out and use the space for a Porta Potti or such. [Elderly bladder!] Would this compromise the operation and use of the Amdro? Many thanks, Peter 🐨
@leeaundrews3 жыл бұрын
Hi. The Amdro is designed to rest on the back of the seats when they are folded but I’m sure they make an optional leg extension (or you could make one) for use without seats. This is how the previous version worked with the earlier model Berlingo. Hope this helps 😁

Not sure about the safety of those loose gas canisters. Did you put in a drop vent?
@CosgroveNotts4 жыл бұрын
Nice to see you know what you are talking about lol
@leeaundrews4 жыл бұрын
@cardinal biggles - the canisters are sat in a recessed part of that drawer and when closed they are boxed in on all sides, so aren’t going anywhere. They are only backpacking canisters that aren’t connect to anything when in transit so extremely low chance of any leaks - no drop vent needed. If you had bought some gas at an outdoor shop you wouldn’t install a drop vent just to take them home...
