Great looking van, nice to see a step by step guide instead of a 20 minute time-lapse. I have a T6, I originally wanted to convert it but having 3 young children, the lack of seatbelts is an issue. I’ve had it for 5 years and plan to sell it in the new year, my neighbour has just bought a converted Sprinter and I’m jealous 🤢🤢🤢 I came across your videos looking for Vivaro builds, they’re cheaper to buy than a VW, and I think a better shape. You’ve not mentioned money yet, I’m curious if you make money from the conversions. Buying the same van helps with future builds, instead of making one off templates you can re-use them and speed the process up.

Yes I prefer the Vivaro/Trafic to the VWs they are a slightly bigger van. I've converted 6 vivaros now and I have templates for all of the panels and furniture. The first one took me months to do but I can now turn them around in about 4 weeks. I have more planned for the year to come and I will be posting more videos from the planning stage to completion. I do sell the vans most of them have gone within a week or so of advertising them. Thanks for watching.

Looks good love the aesthetic not overly keen on the standard layout but i'm sure it serves others well. Just bought a swb vivaro recently myself and have already started converting it, I deliberated for awhile wether to get one but I think I have a unique layout/ setup which will hopefully prove a winner.

Thanks, I know what you mean about the standard layout. The design is a little restricted with the R&R bed. The first conversion I did was a SWB with an L shaped seat at the back which folded out into the bed. Van No 3 is in the planning stage right now and it will be a different layout. Very nice conversion. I'm doing a Renault trafic 2019 lwb. Can you tell me how you got cable from van battery under bonnet to your leisure battery. And where you got your fridge from. Sad to hear you're selling it. Was looking forward to seeing your escapades.

Thanks David, The best place I found for the cables was through the grommet around the bonnet release cable. I traced it back through the cab and put a couple of holes in it and fed the cables through. The fridge is the Alpicool R50 and if I remember correctly I got it from a place called clearcut conversions. I intend to buy another van and convert it too and then get away in the late summer, so many escapades to come. Good luck with your conversion, hope that helps.

Outstanding video`s Dave , Just a quick question , as this has been converted from a normal van to a camper van , does it have to be deregistered with DVLA and registered as a camper van

I don't think is essential to change it with the DVLA. But to do so there is a list of requirements that the van must meet for the DVLA. One of then was it must have 2 windows on at least one side of the van. Thanks for watching and I'm glad you liked the videos.

Hi Arthur, the bulkhead came out quite easily. It's held on with a few Torx bolts and a couple of rivets which I drilled out. Good luck with your conversion and thanks for watching.

Lovely van Dave, I was worried I'd missed part of the series as you jumped from the ceiling to a completed van tour!! Brilliant build, you must be chuffed to bits with it. Have you considered a swivel base for the passenger seats? Would give you more seating options. Also an awning?

I have had converted, a sister van to this and the Renault traffic, the Fiat Talento lwb crew cab van onyx edition. I bought my van brand new as a 70 reg, right in the jaws of the pandemic when vans were nearly unsellable. I paid £25k brand new including vat for the van and then got it fully converted in Otley. I have just sold the original rear seats for £400 and the conversion including the revolving double front passenger seats cost £18400 bringing the total converted price to £43000 for a brand new van, which is wider and bigger, with a 120 cm wide rib altair bed, instead of a 105 cm in a transporter. Who needs an inferior van just for the sake of badge snobbery, when you can save £22k ? My van also comes with 2 x 95amp hour agm batteries, drivelodge pop top, sink and water pump, hob, gas locker, water containers, solar panel, canopy, webasto diesel heater fed from the main tank, etc, etc. By the way, I have bought a 300 watt portable inverter from halfords, which plugs into one of the 12 volt sockets from halfords and even powers a television when off grid.

@@dave-watsonI had to wait months for the slot for the conversion to be done, it was finally completed in early December 2021. Since then we have been away 12 times, about once a fortnight. I am not being over dramatic in saying that it has completely changed my life !
