Hello, thank you so much for this video. Yesterday I purchased a 1993 vw transporter t4 autosleeper trooper. I have no idea how any of the stuff works but after watching your video I have so many ideas on how to store things. Your suggestion of tea and cups being in the cupboards above the bed I would never have thought of until I trapped them below the bed so thank you so much for saving me that hassle. I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos x

Hi Ian, so glad you're enjoying my little vids... hope you've found the Playlist where all the vids are in county or topic order... ie campervan vids all in one folder. I'm sure you will enjoy your new T4 Villa XL high top... bet you can't wait for Spring 24. Have to say I don't use mine during the winter months, it just gets dark by 4.30ish - which I hate. Planning to put mine away tomorrow, hoping it's going to be sunny so that I can clean it before the cover goes on. Well that's the plan! Happy travels Ian 🚐

Like you i like my Auto-Sleepers high top T4 for it's size....compact but not too small, can go down narrow country lanes also park in supermarket car parks - not so easy for a larger vehicle, also can park on my driveway at home & best of all is the all round vision thanks to it's many windows......no blind spots + the driving position is excellent. My favourite part of the 'van.....having the sliding door open and sitting on the step watching the sunset - magic! Then at night retire to bed.....bliss. The campervan is the best thing i've ever bought.

I feel exactly the same Geoff! No, she's not trendy, she's not 'showy', she's not flash, (like me!). She's not got huge wheels or fancy trims... but this camper is a humble camper that really works. For me personally, everything is in the right place and, as you say, she's the perfect size to take down narrow roads etc... and most of all she's reliable... she's an uncomplicated work horse. I trust her, she'll get me there... and back! And if not, she shouldn't break the bank to get her put right. My camping motto is 'keep it simple'... so many people look to complicate the camping experience with so much kit, until it's no longer camping. They may as well buy a caravan and be done with it! Happy Days Geoff! 🤗

Also should add it's perfect for all my hobbies/interests....music festivals/shows/National Trust/walking & cycling etc. Been all over the UK in the camper,even overseas.....IOW/Ireland + island hopping along the West Coast of Scotland using Calmac Ferries. Also use it all the year round visiting various Christmas Markets - last year did Lincoln/York/Sheffield....staying on a small CS in Lincoln for a week and using public transport. Will send a couple of photo's of the camper if i can find your email address. Geoff

Hi, this is a lovely video, you are a very jolly person and your delight in owning the Trident is super. I'm a 55 year old woman looking into buying either a Trident or Trooper so I have found this very helpful. I have had caravans for 18 years and have still got my baby 1986 Siverline Nova caravan and a Dandy folding camper. I really want to try campervanning though. As an extra hobby! I know there will be ongoing mechanical maintenance etc.Do you still have your van? Cheers, Fiona, Lake District.
@teresasworld3374 Жыл бұрын
Hi Fiona - thank you for watching the video and taking time to comment. The main difference you will find with a camper as opposed to a caravan, is that when you're parked up on site and want to sight-see, you need to put things away again, and unhook from the electric etc in order to drive off. I have it down to an art now, so it's not an issue for me, but for others, (with more kit than I have!)... it can be tiresome. I believe the Trooper has a shower on board... and is a long wheel base vehicle (longer than the Trident). I meet so many people on sites, who don't use the shower on board, as there's usually nice showers on the site. It's also down to the issue of water... it's totally a personal decision, but I have to say, I don't miss not having a shower as I don't wild camp. As a female on my own, I prefer to stay on camp sites, I simply feel safer. Do go to the home page of my channel and look on the Playlist... there are 'topic' folders and one that is 'camper' related videos. Hope you enjoy browsing. It would be great if you hit Subscribe, it doesn't cost anything, but means you'll be notified when I upload content. I'd love to gain more female followers. Yes.. I still use my van, I love her so much. There's an element of 'roughing it' to the Trident, but I love that too. I love sliding that door and the outdoors comes in to greet me. Whatever vehicle you buy, it will be right for you. It's such a personal thing. Be particularly careful with rust... mechanically the VW T4 is a work horse, but rust (as in most vehicles) is the cancer to watch out for. You can't go far wrong sticking with a VW - but then I'd say that !! 😂 I wish you well and lots of happy travels , Teresa 🚐🤗

@teresasworld33743 жыл бұрын
Hi Geraldine... glad you liked the video and it gave you some insight, on the Trident. I love my van... and wouldn't swap it for any other in the same price bracket. It works for me, but we're all different... there's no right or wrong... it's simply what suits you and the way you tick. Good to do research, but my motto in life is "just do it' ... you can always sell it, if it's not for you. What I will say, is that running a car, a camper and a house as a solo woman is, at times, financially tough... those 3 things come first, before clothes or nice things for myself, eg I don't get my nails done professionally, I don't have lots of shoes and handbags lol.... but I'm very happy with life... and what it has to offer when you have a campervan. Suddenly, you can go away weekends... and it doesn't cost a fortune... but remember, you do have to maintain the van... at the moment Im saving to get a rusting wheel arch done! Approx £500 - I try to do something on it every year - to keep it uptogether. Good luck in finding the right camper for you. Happy travels 🤗

@teresasworld33744 ай бұрын
Hi there nicolesenior9492 - firstly, thanks for watching TWorld and taking time to message me. I'm glad you enjoyed the Van Tour video and that it inspired you to get one. It's lovely that you've named your van and I wish you happy travels and happy times in your Doris. My van is not automatic, and is 2 litre petrol, with no power steering. I wonder if your automatic has power steering? It's one thing I'm considering having done, because evidently you can install 'power steering'. To be honest, I've managed for 12 years, so I'm not in a hurry, it's on the 'consider doing' list. Firstly, I have a rusty wheel arch to get done in October this year. You'll always have something to do on your van, and I recommend you do a little 'bodywork' upkeep, every year... So! Happy travels, I know the excitement you're feeling... I get that every time I take the cover off of my van, after she's been in storage during the Winter months. I can't wait to get her rolling again - happy days! 🚐

Hi, great video 👍 I’m considering an Autosleeper Trident for travelling to France for cycling holidays. What mpg do you get on long journeys please, fuel is obviously a large part of the cost of the holiday these days. Thanks 🙏
@teresasworld3374 Жыл бұрын
Hi Terry, I can truly say I've never calculated. All I know is that last September when fuel prices were really high it cost me about £280 in petrol and I did just over 1000 miles when I went to Scotland from Wiltshire. I use E5 petrol which is far more expensive than E10 - but as my camper is 30 years old, she just seems to run better on that. I guess I look at it from a different perspective. If I stayed in a hotel I'd be paying approx £75+ per night, so a campsite is already saving me a substantial amount of money. I do love the sound of a petrol engine, she runs so sweet, and I believe petrol is a cleaner fuel than diesel. But, it's totally a personal choice, no right or wrong. I would say that the main difference between petrol and diesel is that you'll benefit from power steering in a diesel. The petrol Trident does NOT have power steering. Also, bear in mind that though you will enjoy cheaper holidays staying on campsites- you still have to maintain your van... servicing, MOT, things wear out, things need mending, bodywork needs keeping an eye on. I have to get wheel arches done this year... there's always something with an older vehicle. The on-going maintenance costs concerned me more than the fuel issue. Tridents are known for poor bodywork, they can rust if not looked after. I try to get something done every year. Happy travels Terry, diesel or petrol - you'll have fun in France. I've not ventured that far yet! Not brave enough to do that solo!! Thanks for watching the video, hope you explored the PlayList and hit Subscribe, got some nice campsite reviews etc, but not in France yet!

@@teresasworld3374 Hi Teresa, thanks for your comprehensive and helpful reply. I’ve got a fair bit of experience using campsites both here and in Europe in a Hymer motor home and also with caravans. The Hymer was lovely (especially the drop down bed over the cab) but was just too big to use as a second car regularly so it was a lot of money sitting on the drive 90% of the time. I’ve just got fed up with towing the caravan and because of the length (car + van) it’s very expensive on the ferry or tunnel. If I took it very easy I’d get 25-26 mpg. I’m sure you’re aware of how well setup Europe is for camper vans. The sites are cheaper and it’s great using the village aires, you should give it a go. My trip last year was to La Bourg d’ Oisans in the Alps to compete in La Marmotte Sportive. Unfortunately I’ve got 360 miles on this side of the Channel before I get to Europe which is why I was asking about mpg. Thanks again for your reply. Terry

My 1992 T4 AUTOSLEEPER TROOPER has no power steering, it is also a petrol engine.

Yes, it's because the petrol engine is lighter than the diesel, so VW in their wisdom thought the petrol vehicles didn't need power steering... have to say it would be nice at times tho, but I manage :)) 🤗

Where do you put your spare tyre?
@teresasworld33743 ай бұрын
Hi there... the spare tyre on the VW T4 Trident Auto sleeper is situated at the back, right underneath the vehicle ... thanks for watching and asking the question. 🚐

I have a diesel 2014 campervan and it’s not Ulez compliant. I hope you don’t live in a London borough. I expect even your petrol one is not compliant.

Hi Christian, I live in Wiltshire. When I have my van MOTd I have to supply a special document from VW that states that, when it was built it was never fitted with a catalytic converter... and therefore cannot be tested for emissions in the same way as a van that does have a cat converter. Yes, luckily I don't take it into cities etc but if I did, I'd be liable to congestions charges... such is life today. Happy and safe travels 🤗
