This gigantic work of J S Bach seems to be in the highest level ever. It is so hard to understand it, to know it, to perform it. Conductor Jos van Veldhoven made the almost impossible - he, together with the vocalists, instrumentalists, etc. - managed to perform it perfectly. I've never been so affected emotionally by other performances of this work, as by this one. To the conductor mentioning the rhetoric-paradox, I can only add that in a paradox way, he managed to make the composer, the composition, the performance, himself as a conductor, all the musicians and all the listeners/viewers' heart-beats beating together as one. Bravissimo! - and again, I must congret. and thank the NBS for their excellent work and wonderful professional uploads and interviews.

Great! I hope to use lots of emotion too in speaking, playing and preaching this Easter to convey the message of Jesus: Forgiveness of sins and a heart full of peace when we obey Jesus commands and God's laws.

That soprano's pronunciation drives me nuts. "Blute nur, du lie-buss Herz!" argh >.

I wouldn't consider it false pronunciation. The schwa sound there is something between ä and ö, it is not an open vowel. Some (not all) singers have been taught to pronounce it more like ö, for quite a time, in Germany.
