It's coming along very nicely! Diesel, or Subaru? How about a Subaru EE20 Turbo Diesel boxer engine? The EE20 makes 148 hp at around 3000 rpm and 258 ft-lb at 1800 rpm. A newer Subaru Outback using the engine can reach up to reportedly between 37 to 41 mpg. It's certainly expensive, but Boxeer sells a kit for the EURO 6 EE20 engine for 6.2k with all but the ECU and wiring or 10k for the complete engine. Though whatever engine Scott is thinking of is the better choice since he measured the engine bay \_("*_*)_/
