Your seal pulling technique is great! I think I'll try it on a diff output seal on my car.

Thanks! Simple and effective. Just be careful not to scratch the surfaces.

Hello. Your videos are great. I was wondering if you would do this as a service for others?

I use to have an 89 Vanagon and it would have been great to have converted it.How much abuse can a stock 4 speed and halfshafts handle? Are the rpm's at a decent place around 70 mph? Cool videos

+Jesse Ray Hi Jesse, the stock gearbox can take a lot. If you are truly abusing it with a turbo powered Subaru 230+ HP and dropping the clutch at stop lights all the time then you'll probably destroy it eventually. If you drive mostly flat land at 70 mph then it would be wise to regear. Generally on a stock trans you're around the 4000 rpm range at 70, maybe a little less.

I have found a good engine online but it does not come with the ECU or wiring harness. Is it possible to get the ecu and harness separate from the engine as long as they match up?
@Busaru7 жыл бұрын
+Tyler Sherman quite possible. Junkyards are your friend.

@Busaru I was re-watching some of your videos and working on my buggy and a thought/question came to mind. I have a street legal buggy with bare bones electrical.. headlights, turn signals and brake lights. I thought while I have an entire donor car it might work better to run more subi wiring for light controls, etc. Given that everything works fine now shy of not having high beams, would it be worth the extra hassle to strip/prep/mod more subi harness for adapting to my rail?
@Busaru7 жыл бұрын
+Kevin Alberts I've never done it, as the Subaru accessory wiring is built specifically for the Subaru, but you could probably incorporate certain things from the system. Seems a bit complicated to me though.

Busaru, I'm housebound due to extreme heat (Australia). Thanks to your videos, I've learned an extreme amount about wiring for VDub engine swaps. Thanks heaps. Love your work.

+Warren Crosbie I've heard it's been a brutal summer down there. Take care mate, glad the videos help.
