Appreciate the speedy practical bits. Others spend way too long on this.

I’m so old. I can remember when Skoda’s were cheap. Mind you, VW didn’t own them, back in the olden days, and having to try and recoup some of their losses, from emissions gate. £39,000 for a base model. Ouch! 😊

£39000 for the base model 😂. For that you buy a car which is heavy , doesn’t go round bends very well and has the affront to have a vRS badge on one version. Yuk

I am sorry , but since when it is OK to have a 40k+ car that with visible panels inside the car? And then You have the people that mock panel gaps , when this shit exists in production. If it was something in 10-15 k range, sure save money where You can. But this is unacceptable.
@mr.wizeguy8995 Жыл бұрын
I would say over 90% cars have visible panels inside. Majority them is just painted black so those match better with window rubber seals.
@idimidodjimi6760 Жыл бұрын
No they don't. My Fiat 500 does, which is ok cause it supposed to be like that , and cheap. My vans do also - so its OK cause commercial vehicles , But somehow its OK for VW group for almost every car ? I mean I drove Chevrolet Captiva from 2008 and it wasn't showing outside paint inside the car and huge panel gaps, and that was considered a budget car. None of the French cars do. So i cant take Your 90% argument - except for 90 % of VAG group.

I guess it depends how customers react to it and whether it is significant enough to influence the perception of quality. There are clearly visible panels but it’s not like something from 20 years ago where it was all panel with some plastic stuck on as an embellishment. To me, the flashes look intentional and the only difference they’re making is aesthetic. I don’t mean to say you are wrong but rather to point out that it’s a very subjective matter of taste. They could have clad those areas in hard or soft plastic that nobody will ever touch except when detailing the car. It would make no difference except use more material.
