this song captures the feeling so, so perfectly. in high school, I fell in love with my best friend and was so scared to come out that I just sat on the sidelines while they dated another. it hurt to watch, but I just wanted them to be happy ...until they weren't. ended up in an abusive relationship. so. I confessed. told them they deserved so much better. we got married on the exact date of our tenth anniversary because we're hopeless like that ...and that was four years ago now? god, this song take me back. cathartic, though. just wanted to share a ray of hope for others who may relate.

This song hits too close to home for me.It bring back memories from catholic school. I was infatuated with this girl in my grade and we had this flirty back and forth thing going on.I remember getting nervous sweats whenever she hugged me or passed me notes in class. Nothing happened beyond stolen kisses and holding hands .I guess we were both scared and ashamed of this new kind of love.I know i was. She left school the next year and I remember feeling so devastated and angry at everyone. This was the early 2000's and being gay or coming out weren't concepts that were talked about so openly . I always wonder what would happened if we took the plunge and just came out , or if the society then was more tolerant .I hope she's happy and thinks of me too wherever she is .

I always thought I'll never relate to this song because doing so will hurt a great deal. But here I am, hopelessly, utterly in love with someone I have deeply connected with. Always on the verge of something but can't. I know we both understand that it's not just friendship. But I eventually learned he's already with someone.
