The Dhyana Krti of Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi's Kamakshi Navavaranam set begins with the opening lines "Vanchhasi yadi kushalam maanasa paramaananda rasa sindhu madhya mani bindu chakra nilayaam nirantaram dhyaayeta shree kamaksheem" meaning "If you want your wellbeing, incessantly meditate upon the Goddess Kamakshi who resides in the Bindu, which is the core of the Shrichakra.

Oottukkadu Venkata Kavi, a composer of time-transcending brilliance and encyclopedic erudition, is said to have lived approximately between 1700-1765. The vastness of his multi-dimensional creations is only matched by the depth of his knowledge and exemplary attitude. He was a consummate master of melody, form, rhythm, meter, poetry, dance, drama, epics, mythology, cultural history and geography who was at equal ease in Sanskrit as well as Tamil. The enchanting magic his creations weave have endeared him to thousands of musicians, music lovers and students alike and awed scholars over the years.
