Alvin Garden has been around for close to 20 years now, so glad to see they're soldiering on, keeping their Hunan authenticity. BTW they make some fantastic XLBs too. Now that you've eaten at ALVIN you're ready to go back to KALVIN'S Szechuan Restaurant for an encore meal. This time must order deep-fried pork belly in red fermented sauce (and also pork chops in red fermented sauce .... on their secret Chinese-only menu), eggplant with minced pork in garlic & chili sauce, lamb with basil, ginger, green onion & chili pepper and finally the famous Taiwanese dish three cup chicken. Take a look at their menu and you'll be as excited like a Swiftie this past weekend :-D

Thanks for your comment! We’re pretty sure actually just did a video on Kalvin’s a few weeks back! We loved it, although we found out about the “secret” menu after the fact. We loved the shredded pigs ear, but we want to go back to try that pork belly! Kalvin’s is a favourite of many!

Ah, my neighborhood! My ex took me to Alvin Gardens years ago. Many places have changed since then, but Alvin Gardens is going strong. My fav place closed, Mr.Zhang's in Crystal Mall. Best Guo bao rou I've had. If you find a place that makes it, let me know? Thank you! Happy you are enjoying.

@@suekuan1540 we use the term “Vancouver” for the GVRD - we’ve gone to places in North Vancouver, Burnaby and Richmond and we’ve got our eyes on Surrey.

Thanks for posting this video. I will definitely have to try this place the next time I visit Vancouver. You may want to try the Portuguese Club of Vancouver on Commercial Drive. The seafood is especially good there.
