There’s only a handful on the northern island that have crossed from the inlets pretty rare on the island but a lot of black bear and kittys

Any Grizz that make it to the island are shot, almost immediately. And even Black bears are not that commonly ran into in the bush. But Cougars... yeah those ninja's are everywhere. I've hiked the island from pillar to post for 25 years and barely ever see bears. No worries there ;)
